The 2023 MLB season is fully in swing and VSiN has you covered with every way you can possibly bet on a baseball game. Normally, Adam Burke will have daily best bets to give you some ideas of what to back when it comes to moneylines, run lines and totals, while I focus on feeding you all player props. However, Adam is off on Sundays, so I’m tackling everything before we get back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. Keep reading to find out how I’m betting three of the games on the MLB schedule for Sunday, May 14th.

Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Sunday, May 14th:

Los Angeles Angels at Cleveland Guardians (-120, 7.5)

It’s hard to make a case for backing the Guardians against a good starting pitcher right now. After all, Cleveland’s offense has been absolutely miserable this season. However, the Guardians bats have been alive in this series. After scoring four runs in the series opener, Cleveland scored eight runs in yesterday’s victory over Los Angeles. The Guardians will now look to beat the Angels and win this three-game set. And we like them to do it, especially with this being an extremely early game. It’s tough for a Los Angeles-based team to go out and win a game this early in the morning. And Patrick Sandoval hasn’t quite looked like himself lately either. The lefty has given up 12 earned runs over his last 22.1 innings of work, seeing his ERA rise from 1.23 to 3.41 in four starts. With all of that in mind, we’re taking a shot on the home team here.

Bet: Guardians ML (-120)

Philadelphia Phillies (-165, 10.5) at Colorado Rockies

One of the best ways to attack player props is to find the favorite in a game with a high total and back somebody to produce at the plate. Well, today that has us betting on Trea Turner to have at least two total bases against the Rockies, at Coors Field. Kyle Freeland will be on the hill for Colorado in this game, and he’s probably the best pitcher the Rockies have to offer. However, Freeland has had his troubles pitching at Coors Field — just like everybody else. And Turner has demolished left-handed pitching in his career. So, we’re expecting Turner to do some big things for Philadelphia in this game. Turner hasn’t lived up to expectations for the Phillies just yet, but this is the type of game in which he should show up.

Bet: Turner Over 1.5 Total Bases (-135)

San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers (-175, 9.5)

Ryan Weathers is starting for the Padres tonight, and the lefty hasn’t made a start since Monday, April 17th. He pitched twice out of the bullpen since then, but he hasn’t quite been able to stretch himself out at the major league level. And Weathers now faces a Dodgers team that is third in the league in isolated power against left-handed pitching. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Los Angeles put a big number on the scoreboard today, especially with San Diego having a mediocre bullpen — which could exacerbate things if Weathers can’t work deep in this one. The Padres will just need to find a way to get some runs across home plate if this over is going to hit. It might not be easy with Tony Gonsolin on the hill, but I think they can get at least something done offensively. That’s why I’m playing the over.

Bet: Over 9.5 (-105)
