Best Bets on Today’s 15-Game MLB Schedule

We’re entering the final stretch of the 2023 MLB season and VSiN continues to have you covered with every way you can possibly bet on a baseball game. Normally, Adam Burke will have daily best bets to give you some ideas of what to back when it comes to moneylines, run lines and totals, while I focus on feeding you all player props. However, Adam is off on Sundays, so I’m tackling everything before we get back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. Keep reading to find out how I’m betting three of the games on the MLB schedule for Sunday, September 10th.

Here are our favorite MLB best bets and prop bets for Sunday, September 10th:

Milwaukee Brewers at New York Yankees (-130, 7.5)

There are two very good starters on the mound in this one, as Milwaukee’s Corbin Burnes will try to out-duel New York’s Gerrit Cole. However, Burnes has been pretty beatable recently, giving up seven or more hits in four of his last five outings. With the righty struggling a bit, it feels like this total is a little too low. The Yankees have actually scored at least five runs in five of their last eight games against right-handed starters. So, I do think they can give Burnes some trouble here, or at least go to work on Milwaukee’s bullpen.

The Brewers have also scored at least seven runs in four of their last seven. So, while facing Cole is a whole different beast, I do think Milwaukee can have a solid game at the plate here. It also doesn’t hurt that the Yankees are likely to be cautious with Cole the rest of the way. So, he’s probably not pitching more than 6.0 innings here, even though he’s trying to wrap up the AL Cy Young Award. But overall, I can’t ignore that the Over is 9-1 in Burnes’ inter-league starts this year. And the average total runs scored in those games was 12.0 runs per game.

Bet: Over 7.5 (-108)

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox (-115, 10)

The Orioles have gone Over the total in each of their last seven games and they have also done so in nine of their last 10. This team is scorching hot at the plate, scoring at least five runs in nine of its last 10. And Baltimore has also scored at least 10 runs in each of its last three. With that in mind, it’s hard to go away from the Over here. The Orioles will be going up against a very beatable starter in this one, as they’re facing Brayan Bello. Bello has been rock-solid all season, but he isn’t a guy with the type of stuff required to slow down this Baltimore offense. Meanwhile, I also trust Boston to get the job done against Grayson Rodriguez. The 23-year-old is very talented, but the Red Sox hit righties very hard and should get to him at least a little here. Then, both of these teams should be able to score against the opposing bullpen.

Bet: Over 10 (-102)

New York Mets at Minnesota Twins (-180, 8.5)

I have mostly been fading Tylor Megill this season, but I like him to have at least five strikeouts against the Twins today. Megill has actually had at least five strikeouts in each of his last four starts, and he has generally looked very comfortable on the mound over the last few weeks. Now, Megill will get to face a Twins team that has the highest strikeout rate in baseball and you’d have to think that he’ll be looking forward to getting out there for this one. The only issue is that Megill has been miserable on the road this season. But the good news with a play like this is that Megill can struggle and still reach five strikeouts. No part of this bet requires him to have a productive outing for New York, even if I do think he’s capable of turning in a solid performance here.

Bet: Megill Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-150)
