MLB Futures Bets to Consider in 3 Intriguing Divisions:
We are about one-third of the way through the baseball season, so it’s a good time to check in on the divisions and futures to see if there is any value in the markets
NL East
This is, by far, the most interesting division in baseball. The Phillies have a 1.5-game lead over the Mets and an 8.5-game lead over the Braves. The Phils are on a nice 9-1 run and have been getting solid performances across the board from their pitching staff. They are installed as +100 favorites with the Mets at +115 and the Braves at +750.

I’m still a believer in this Braves team that just had Ronald Acuna Jr. return to the lineup. He came out swinging with two homers in his first two games back, and Drake Baldwin has been a nice surprise while quickly establishing himself as a top-5 catcher. Spencer Strider is back in the rotation and should improve as the season continues. At +750, they are worth a flier, but I like them at +1900 to win the World Series more. They will make the playoffs and will be dangerous once they get there.
AL West
The Mariners have been able to produce enough offense to take a 1.5-game division lead over the Astros, with the Rangers and Angels both 4.5 back. The value in this division is still on the Rangers at +400 despite them not really doing anything well. The Astros are +155, and it’s time to get in. They have the most well-rounded team in the division and are currently the favorite to win the division based on my complete season simulations.
NL West
Not shockingly, the Dodgers have posted themselves atop the standings in a very competitive division. The Padres and especially the Giants have overachieved and sit two games back of the boys in blue, but I’m still more interested in the Diamondbacks, who are six back. I do not think they can run down the Dodgers, but due to the surge from the teams above them, you can get the D’backs at +125 to make the playoffs. I have them as slightly better than even money to make it, so there is quite a bit of value to be had based on my simulations.
