Chicago Cubs vs. New York Yankees

The Cubs are second in the league in scoring with over 5.3 runs per game. The Yankees are third with just under 5.3 runs per game and will need to lend run support for starting pitcher Will Warren, who has a 4.70 ERA with 4.1 walks per nine innings. Cubs starting pitcher Shota Imanaga owns a 2.80 ERA but might be due for regression with a 4.62 fielding independent with 1.5 home runs and 6.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

MLB Picks: Cubs Moneyline +113 and Over 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Cubs -115 and Total 9.2)

1:40 PM Eastern

Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers

Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty has been one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball with 11 strikeouts per nine innings, but has a 4.70 ERA, allowing 1.6 home runs and 3.6 walks per nine innings. Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert has been able to get even more whiffs with 12.8 strikeouts per nine innings and a 3.88 ERA with 1.5 home runs per nine innings allowed, but a 3.18 fielding independent. He is backed up by a Mariners lineup whose nearly 5.2 runs per game away from home entering the weekend was tied for third in the league.

MLB Picks: Mariners Moneyline +100 and Over 8 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Mariners -117 and Total 8.7)

2:10 PM Eastern

Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox

Guardians starting pitcher Joey Cantillo began the season in the bullpen and is now making his third start of the season. He has allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings with 12 strikeouts in his first two starts. Cantillo faces a White Sox lineup whose 3.4 runs per game ranks 28th in the league. White Sox starting pitcher Aaron Civale has a 5.40 ERA overall this season, but has given up two earned runs or fewer in seven of his past nine starts. Cleveland’s 3.7 runs per game on offense rank 26th in the league.

MLB Picks: Guardians Moneyline -128 and Under 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Guardians -143 and Total 8.1)

4:10 PM Eastern

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Diego Padres

Padres starting pitcher Nick Pivetta has been at his best at home this season, posting a 2.30 ERA with 0.8 home runs per nine innings compared to a 4.09 ERA on the road with over 1.4 home runs per nine innings allowed. Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez has a 2.59 ERA with just 0.6 home runs per nine innings allowed this season, but is supported by a bullpen that ranks 23rd in ERA at 4.40. The Padres’ 3.24 ERA is second in the league.

MLB Pick: Padres Moneyline +112. (Greg’s Handicap Padres Moneyline -116)
