Top MLB Resources:
1:10 PM Eastern
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Cleveland Guardians
Though Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman enters having allowed at least three runs in seven of his past 10 starts and owns a 4.60 ERA this season, his 3.85 fielding independent with 8.8 strikeouts and 2.5 walks per nine innings indicate there should be positive regression coming. Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee owns a 3.86 ERA with 1.5 home runs per nine innings this season. That drops to a 2.50 ERA with 0.75 home runs per nine innings allowed. He faces a Blue Jays lineup whose 3.6 runs per game away from home ranks 27th in the league.
MLB Picks: Guardians Moneyline -106 and Under 8 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Guardians -123 and Total 7.7)
2:10 PM Eastern
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Kansas City Royals
Rays starting pitcher Shane Baz has been shaky this season with a 4.79 ERA, but has performed better on the road with a 3.57 ERA. He faces a Royals offense that is last in the league in scoring at home with fewer than 2.9 runs per game. Royals starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen owns a 4.81 ERA with 1.5 home runs per nine innings, but he has been at his best in Kansas City with a 3.30 ERA and 0.9 home runs per nine innings at home.
MLB Picks: Rays Moneyline -119 and Under 10 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Rays 129 and Total 9.1)
2:15 PM Eastern
Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Cubs starting pitcher Shota Imanaga is making his first start since May 4. He posted a 2.82 ERA before going on the injured list, but he looked really good in his three minor league rehab starts, with 16 strikeouts in 10 1/3 scoreless innings. The Cubs have the best bullpen ERA in the league since May 1 with a 2.60 ERA. Cardinals starting pitcher Andre Pallante has a 4.48 ERA with 1.3 home runs and three walks per nine innings allowed, allowing three runs or fewer in seven of his past eight starts.
MLB Picks: Cubs Moneyline -132 and Under 9 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Cubs -142 and Total 8.7)
7:10 PM Eastern
Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets
Mets starting pitcher Griffin Canning owns a 3.91 ERA with a 4.10 fielding independent. He is backed up by a bullpen that entered Wednesday seventh in ERA at 3.46. The Braves’ bullpen is 13th with a 3.68 ERA. The team simply hasn’t been the same away from home, posting a 15-26 record on the road. Starting pitcher Grant Holmes owns a 3.71 ERA, but a 4.42 fielding independent with 1.5 home runs and 4.1 walks per nine innings allowed
MLB Picks: Mets Moneyline -105 and Under 9 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Mets -138 and Total 8.2)
