Washington Nationals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes was let down by poor outfield defense in his first start of 2026 but has since settled in, allowing five hits and two runs across 11 1/3 innings over his last two starts after posting a 1.97 ERA last season.

Nationals starting pitcher Cade Cavalli has allowed just four earned runs across 14 1/3 innings in his first three starts of the season and faces a Pirates lineup that is improved from last season but still ranked last in scoring in 2025 with 3.6 runs per game.

Pick: Nationals vs. Pirates Under 7.5 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Total 6.8

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Baltimore Orioles

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Ryne Nelson has struggled to begin the season, allowing 12 runs across 15 innings in his first three starts, though five of those runs were unearned. He is coming off a 2025 season in which he posted a 3.39 ERA with one home run and 2.4 walks per nine innings allowed.

Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer makes his first MLB start of 2026 after posting a 4.19 ERA with 7.4 strikeouts and 1.2 home runs per nine innings allowed. He faces a Diamondbacks lineup that ranked fourth in scoring last season with 4.9 runs per game, while Baltimore ranked 24th and entered Sunday tied for 21st in scoring with just under 3.9 runs per game.

Pick: Diamondbacks Moneyline +107
Greg’s Handicap: Diamondbacks -107

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees

Yankees starting pitcher Will Warren pitched better than his 4.44 ERA would indicate last season, posting a 4.07 fielding independent with 9.5 strikeouts and 1.2 home runs per nine innings allowed. He has allowed just five runs across 14 2/3 innings in three starts this season and is backed by a bullpen that entered Sunday ranked fifth in ERA at 2.78.

The Angels bullpen appears improved, posting a 3.26 ERA entering Sunday, which ranks 11th, and they send Yusei Kikuchi to the mound. Kikuchi owns a 6.75 ERA through three starts this season, but his 3.05 fielding independent with 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings and just one home run allowed point toward positive regression.

Pick: Angels vs. Yankees Under 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Total 8.1

7:15 PM Eastern

Miami Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves

Marlins starting pitcher Eury Perez had notable home and road splits last season, posting a 2.93 ERA with 0.2 home runs per nine innings at home versus a 5.33 ERA with 1.9 home runs per nine innings on the road.

Braves starting pitcher Grant Holmes had issues with walks in 2025, issuing 4.2 per nine innings, but still posted a 3.98 ERA with 9.6 strikeouts per nine innings. He is backed by a lineup that entered Sunday fifth in scoring with over 5.1 runs per game, while the Braves bullpen led the league in ERA at 2.06.

Pick: Braves Moneyline -132
Greg’s Handicap: Braves -153

7:45 PM Eastern

Cleveland Guardians vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Guardians starting pitcher Gavin Williams had a strong 2025 season with a 3.07 ERA and 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings and has been even better this season, posting a 2.04 ERA with 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings through three starts.

Cardinals starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore is coming off a 2025 season in which he posted a 4.21 ERA with 1.1 home runs and 2.4 walks per nine innings allowed. He faces a Guardians lineup that entered Sunday 23rd in scoring with 3.8 runs per game after ranking 28th last season.

Pick: Guardians vs. Cardinals Under 8 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Total 7.4

9:40 PM Eastern

Texas Rangers vs. Athletics

Athletics starting pitcher Luis Severino was significantly worse at home than on the road last season, posting a 6.01 ERA at home compared to a 3.02 ERA away from home, with just 0.7 home runs per nine innings allowed on the road.

Rangers starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has struggled to begin 2026, posting a 7.98 ERA with four home runs allowed across 14 2/3 innings in three starts. He faces an Athletics lineup averaging a league-best 7.7 runs per game at home this season, while the team’s 7.71 home ERA is the worst among American League teams.

Pick: Rangers vs. Athletics Over 9 Runs
Greg’s Handicap: Total 9.7

10:10 PM Eastern

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Mets offense has struggled since Juan Soto landed on the injured list, scoring just 13 runs over their last six games. Starting pitcher David Peterson has also struggled, posting a 6.14 ERA through three starts this season after a 6.34 ERA with 4.2 walks per nine innings following the All-Star Break last season.

Dodgers starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski is coming off a 2025 season in which he posted a 4.32 ERA but a 2.93 fielding independent with 10.3 strikeouts and 0.8 home runs per nine innings allowed.

Pick: Dodgers Run Line -1.5 +130
Greg’s Handicap: Dodgers -1.5 +104
