The 2025 Home Run Derby is going to take place in Atlanta on Monday and Braves slugger Matt Olson will be in his home ballpark trying to win the title.
Olson made one prior appearance in the Home Run Derby in 2021, where he lost a Round One matchup to Trey Mancini by a score of 24-23, but in this format all he needs to do is be in the top four to advance to the next round.
Braves Eddie Pérez, a former MLB catcher, will pitch to Olson in the Home Run Derby and Olson has a leg up with having a former catcher pitch to him for knowing the sweet spot.
With Olson competing in his home ballpark and the lone player in the field that has done an MLB Home Run Derby before, that gives him value to win the trophy on Monday.
