MLB value plays for Tuesday, June 6

Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today’s menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.

Astros vs. Blue Jays (-130). Greg’s Line: Blue Jays -152.

Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman leads qualifying American League starters in fielding independent at 2.38, racking up 12 strikeouts to 2.2 walks per nine innings. Astros starter Hunter Brown has a 4.88 ERA across his last five starts after posting a 2.60 ERA in his first six starts of the season and has to face a Blue Jays lineup that is fourth in the league in on-base percentage.

Tigers vs. Phillies Total 9.5. Greg’s Total 7.9.

Phillies starter Taijuan Walker has had a rough season with a 5.65 ERA, but he enters having allowed three runs or fewer in four of his last five starts and gets to face a Tigers offense that is last in the league in runs per game on the road. Additionally, the Tigers have scored three runs or fewer in five straight games. In what figures to be a bullpen game with Tyler Alexander starting, the team has a 4.02 ERA overall.

Orioles vs. Brewers Total 8.5. Greg’s Total 9.2.

Brewers starter Freddy Peralta has allowed three runs or more in four straight games with 22 runs allowed in 19.2 innings in that stretch while the Brewers bullpen is 20th in ERA the past 30 days. He faces an Orioles offense that is third in the league in runs per game on the road with 5.6. They start Kyle Gibson, who has allowed at least three runs in five of his last nine starts and has just 5.9 strikeouts per nine innings this season.
