PGA Championship: Scottie Scheffler is the -450 favorite heading into today’s final round. Our experts offer their betting advice, although I would say Matt Youmans offers more life coaching than betting advice. The last group goes off at 2:40 p.m. ET.
We have two Game 7s today.
First up:
Nuggets (+8 at Circa) at Thunder, 3:30 ET, ABC.
Zach Cohen has posted his Best Bets on this one:
Watching Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the two MVP frontrunners, play 48 minutes for a spot in the Western Conference Finals will be a treat for basketball fans and bettors. Unfortunately, the Aaron Gordon injury puts a bit of a damper on everything. Gordon is a game-time decision with a hamstring injury, and it seems like there’s a decent chance he won’t play. Considering he’s averaging 14.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, while also shooting 45.2% from 3 and playing stellar defense this series, it would be a massive loss for Denver. But with or without Gordon, I’m taking the Nuggets.
Completing the Game 7 doubleheader:
Panthers (-130 at Circa) at Maple Leafs (+117), 7:30 p.m. ET; TNT.
Jonathan Davis will post his Best Bets later today, but gave me a sneak preview:
Two trends to keep in mind for tonight’s game. The team that lost the previous game has scored the first goal 35 times in 57 playoff games this year. In the 16 previous elimination games the winning team has won by two goals or more, 12 times.
Saturday night recap: No Game 7 here. The Stars (-148) advanced with a 2-1 OT victory over the Jets and will play the Oilers in the Western Conference finals.
MLB Today
Greg Peterson already has filed his top plays for today.
Josh Appelbaum and Steve Makinen will post their Best Bet contributions later this morning.
