After Thursday was a huge day for underdog bettors, favorites bounced back for the most part on Friday as they went 10-5 in MLB and the Golden Knights won as chalk in Game 1 of the NHL Western Conference Finals.
However, the lone NBA playoff game had the Heat upset the Celtics for the second straight game in their Eastern Conference Final series.

NBA: Heat upset Celtics 111-105 Friday to take 2-0 lead in #NBA Eastern Conference Finals: ViewFromVegas is Heat did it as 9.5-point road underdog & +370 on the money line (went just Over closing total of 215 points); Celtics failed in “zig-zag” (aka “loser of the last”) role after losing Game 1.
More NBA: Faves dropped to 2-2 SU in this round (both dog wins by the Heat), but dogs are a perfect 4-0 ATS vs. consensus closing lines. Faves still lead 49-22 SU and 40-30-1 ATS (58%) overall with 1 pick-’em. Home teams also dipped to 2-1 SU with road teams at 4-0 ATS. Home teams still lead 46-26 SU and 40-31-1 ATS (57.1%). Overs improved to 3-1 this round and 37-33-2 overall. The zig-zag dipped to 1-1 ATS this round but still leads 31-26-1 ATS overall.
NHL: Golden Knights (-130 home favorites) beat the Stars 4-3 in OT late Friday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals (game went Over betting total of 5.5 on the Stars’ tying goal with 1:58 left in regulation). The home/fave/Over result was the opposite of the road/dog/Under result in the Eastern Conference Finals Game 1, so faves/dogs home/road, Over/Under are all 1-1 so far in this round.
