Clippers ML (-125 – 1.5 units) vs. Timberwolves

Timberwolves at Clippers – 10:30 pm ET

The Timberwolves are coming off a bad loss to the Lakers last night. Over the last 10 games, Minnesota does have a solid 7-3 record, but the team’s net rating is -0.1. The Timberwolves won some close games against tanking and beaten-up teams, and they have been uncompetitive in their last two contests. Now, Minnesota has to play the second leg of a back-to-back against a good Clippers team. Under Chris Finch, the Wolves are just 11-16 straight-up when playing a second road game in as many nights. Well, I think that record is about to get a little worse.

I mentioned Minnesota’s lousy net rating over the last 10 contests, but Los Angeles is 6-4 with a net rating of +4.9 in that span. This Clippers team continues to play good basketball, as Kawhi Leonard is performing at an All-NBA level and the supporting cast has been playing well. Darius Garland actually just played his best game in a Clippers jersey, pouring in 23 points and dishing out seven assists in a win over the Knicks on Monday. If he continues to play like that, Los Angeles is going to be a very good team the rest of the year — and potentially a tough out in the playoffs.

I also like a few of the matchup-specific things we’ll see here. The Clippers have some feisty on-ball options for Anthony Edwards, which should be big as they try to slow the Wolves down. Then, on offense, Brook Lopez’s 3-point shooting could pull Rudy Gobert away from the rim, opening up driving lanes for the rest of Los Angeles’ players.

Added Plays (Late Picks, Parlays, Teasers, Futures)

Nothing yet.
