Minnesota Timberwolves at Utah Jazz – 9:00 pm ET
The Timberwolves beat the Jazz by 40 just three days ago, which is definitely part of the reason our VSiN splits show nearly 70% of tickets on Minnesota. However, the Timberwolves have largely been unimpressive this year. They’re just 20th in the NBA in defensive rating (115.5), and their offensive rating is being heavily skewed by that dominant win over the Jazz the other night. For the most part, this has been a shaky team on both ends. Of course, that will change eventually. The Timberwolves brought back most of the key pieces from last year’s Western Conference Finals team. However, I don’t think Minnesota should be laying this many points on the road in the second leg of a back-to-back.
Realistically, what happened in the last meeting between these teams is going to be hard to replicate. The Timberwolves shot 56.8% from the floor and 47.2% from 3. The Jazz shot only 37.2% from the floor and 23.1% from 3. I’d expect both numbers to go way up for Utah, and Minnesota should come down to earth a bit.
Under Chris Finch, the Timberwolves are just 9-15 straight-up and 10-14 against the spread when playing the second leg of a road back-to-back. Meanwhile, under Will Hardy, the Jazz are 21-17 ATS as home underdogs of 6.5 to 12 points. Utah is also 30-20 ATS when playing teams with winning percentages between 60% and 70% in that span.
Look for this to be a big game for Lauri Markkanen. He struggled when these teams met on Friday, but he should bounce back in Salt Lake City. Markkanen has 50.0/44.4/93.1 shooting splits and averages 34.3 points per game at home.
I also just trust Hardy to look at the film and figure out some new ways to frustrate Minnesota. He’s one of the brightest head coaches in the league, and Utah is 20-16 ATS when coming off a loss by 20 or more against an opponent under him.

PARLAY: Lakers ML vs. Hornets & Suns ML vs. Pelicans (-141 – 1.5 units) – I mentioned this on Hardwood Handicappers today, but the Lakers and Suns are perfect sides for moneyline parlays tonight. Los Angeles is going up against a Charlotte team that will be without LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, meaning this is a game the Lakers really should win. They might not cover the number — the VSiN betting splits suggest the Hornets are somewhat sharp — but I can’t see anybody keeping Luka Doncic from winning this game if it’s close late. Then, in the second game, I’m trusting Phoenix to win this one outright. The Suns are top-five in the league in three-point shooting and top-10 in halfcourt defense. That’s a great combination. They should be able to out-execute a bad Pelicans bunch.
2025-26 Sides/Totals: 28-23 (+2.46 units)
