Monday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Monday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
Pascal Siakam Over 3.5 Assists (+118) vs. Celtics
Pacers at Celtics – 7:30 pm ET
Siakam has had at least four assists in 15 of the 27 games he has played this season. He’s also averaging 8.4 potential assists and 5.2 adjusted assists per game, meaning his assist numbers would look a little better if his teammates weren’t missing good looks. Tonight, I think Siakam will provide his teammates with plenty of those looks, as the Celtics represent a pretty good matchup for him.
Boston is one of the worst teams in the NBA when it comes to defending above-the-break 3s, so there’s a good chance Siakam will have some opportunities to kick out to open shooters. He might also be forced into some of those passes, as he’ll be covered by some good wings — like Jordan Walsh and Jaylen Brown. He’ll also be met by Neemias Queta when he tries to score at the rim.
We just saw both Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram, two players who operate in similar areas Siakam does, go Over their assist totals against the Celtics in the same game. That said, I think four assists is reasonable here.
Donovan Clingan Over 1.5 Blocks (-114) vs. Pistons
Pistons at Trail Blazers – 10:00 pm ET
Clingan is averaging 32.5 minutes per game over the last two contests, which is a great sign for a player that recently missed time with an injury. Well, if he plays at least 30 minutes tonight, I love his chances of finishing with multiple blocks, which is something he has done in three consecutive games.
Clingan will be defending Jalen Duren tonight, which obviously isn’t an easy task. Duren is averaging 18.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for Detroit this season, and it sure seems like he’s on an All-Star trajectory. However, Duren scores 86% of his points in the paint. That means Clingan will be around the basketball a lot. Duren might end up winning a majority of their individual battles, but I like Clingan’s chances of blocking at least two shots if he’s going to spend a big chunk of this game on the ball.
