Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Monday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
Joel Embiid Over 3.5 Assists (+130) vs. Raptors
76ers at Raptors – 7:30 pm ET
I tried playing this at -117 last night, but Embiid ended up sitting as he continues to be careful with his knee. Well, if Embiid plays tonight, I still think he’s going to have a productive day as a passer. Back on November 8, Embiid had four assists on seven potential assists in a meeting with Toronto, and four dimes is all we’ll need from him this evening. The reality is that the Raptors are in a bad spot at the center position without Jakob Poeltl. With that in mind, they could be forced to send some extra help at Embiid, and he’s more than willing to quickly move the ball to the other Sixers scorers — and there are plenty of those this season. Also, if Embiid ends up being inactive, this will just be voided. That’s exactly what happened last night.
Russell Westbrook Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115) vs. Lakers
Lakers at Kings – 10:00 pm ET
The Kings are playing the second leg of a back-to-back tonight, so they’re going to need some energy. That means this could be a big Westbrook game. The veteran can always be relied on to bring the juice, and I like him to have at least 29 combined points, rebounds, and assists tonight. Over the last two games, Westbrook is averaging 7.5 assists per contest. I don’t see that changing with Dennis Schroder suspended. I also like Westbrook to chip in with some rebounds, as he always seems to do. Then, as a scorer, this matchup is perfect. The Lakers are a bottom-10 team defending at the rim, and they’re also a bottom-10 group defending in isolation and transition. So, by just being aggressive attacking the basket, Westbrook should put up numbers against his former team.
