Noteworthy OptaAI Player Prop Edges for Monday

Below you’ll find some of the projections that stood out when looking at our OptaAI NBA Player Prop projections. Subscribers have access to hundreds of others on a daily basis!

Kevin Durant Over 25.5 Points (-108) vs. Nets

Nets at Rockets – 8:00 pm ET

Our OptaAI projections call for Durant to score 29.20 points when he takes on his former team tonight. Durant is coming off a 37-point performance against the Pistons on Friday, and the 37-year-old has had two full days to rest his body. Another strong outing is certainly in the cards, though a potential blowout victory could derail things.

Zion Williamson Over 4.5 Assists (-151) vs. Celtics

Celtics at Pelicans – 8:00 pm ET

Williamson is averaging 6.0 assists per game to start the season, and he has had at least five assists in back-to-back games. Tonight, our OptaAI projections have him going for 6.44 dimes against the Celtics. His 1.94 edge to the Over is the biggest margin OptaAI has in the assist column. Will Point Zion strike again?

Aaron Gordon Over 1.5 Made 3s (-150) vs. Timberwolves

Nuggets at Timberwolves – 9:30 pm ET

After going 10 for 11 from 3 against the Warriors last Thursday, Gordon went 1 for 6 from deep in a win over the Suns on Saturday. Well, OptaAI likes Gordon to bounce back when he takes on the Timberwolves tonight, as they have him knocking down 2.72 triples in this one. The 1.22 edge to the Over is the biggest margin they have in their 3-point projections.

Monday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Monday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

Ausar Thompson Over 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110) vs. Cavaliers

Cavaliers at Pistons – 7:00 pm ET

It sure seems like we’re seeing the leap from Thompson. Through three games, the 22-year-old is averaging 17.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He also just had 21 points, 12 boards, and three assists in a win over the Celtics. Thompson’s jumper is still far away from where it needs to be, but he’s a fantastic driver, cutter, and transition player. He’s also an awesome rebounder at his position, and he’s very comfortable as a passer within this offense.

Tonight’s matchup isn’t exactly an easy one, as the Cavaliers are one of the best teams in basketball. However, this is the second leg of a back-to-back for Cleveland, and Thompson’s speed and athleticism might trouble the Cavaliers if they show up with tired legs. That said, I’m going Over on Thompson’s PRA total of 23.5, which is a mark he has gone Over in all three of Detroit’s games this year.

Cedric Coward Over 3.5 Rebounds (-144) vs. Warriors

Grizzlies at Warriors – 10:00 pm ET

Coward already looks like the steal of the 2025 NBA Draft, as he’s averaging 19.0 points per game and his shooting splits of 70.4/72.7/91.7 are utterly outrageous. Coward went 6 for 6 from deep in a win over the Pacers the other night, and his gorgeous jumper looks like it could really swing Memphis’ season-long outlook. However, I’m not looking for Coward to do much of anything offensively this evening. I’m simply hoping the rookie can grab four rebounds.

When Coward played 24 minutes the other night, he grabbed six rebounds. As long as he plays some good minutes here, I don’t think there’s much preventing him from grabbing another five or six. While Coward is only 6-foot-5, he has a 7-foot-2 wingspan. He also averaged 7.0 boards per game at Washington State last year. He’s a good rebounder for a wing.

Jerami Grant Over 14.5 Points (-125) vs. Lakers

Trail Blazers at Lakers – 10:30 pm ET

The Lakers are currently 16th in the NBA in adjusted defensive rating (113.6), but this isn’t a roster that can be trusted to get stops. That’s why I’m going Over on Grant’s modest point total of 14.5 this evening. Grant has scored at least 17 points in all three of Portland’s games this year, and he has scored as least 22 points in two of those games.

Grant is averaging only 11.3 attempts per game, which is a little alarming because he’s not going to have 58.8/50.0/80.0 splits all season. However, Grant is fully capable of knocking down open triples, which should be there against Los Angeles. He has also been tremendous at getting to the free throw line, averaging 8.3 attempts at the charity stripe per night.

I don’t know if Grant will come close to reaching his season-long average of 22.7 points per game, but 15 seems well within reason. OptaAI has Grant projected for 19.61 points tonight. Their projections have been high on him all season.
