Noteworthy OptaAI Player Prop Edges for Thursday

Below you’ll find some of the projections that stood out when looking at our OptaAI NBA Player Prop projections. Subscribers have access to hundreds of others on a daily basis!

Darius Garland Under 5.5 Assists (-102) vs. Raptors

Raptors at Cavaliers – 7:00 pm ET

Garland has played only three games this season. The electric guard is averaging 5.0 assists per game so far, but he has also gone Under tonight’s total of 5.5 assists twice. Garland had only two dimes against the Heat last game, and it’ll be interesting to see how often he’s making plays this evening. However, our OptaAI projections have him finishing with only 4.04. That edge to the Under is the biggest for all assist totals tonight.

Dyson Daniels Under 14.5 Points (-120) vs. Jazz

Hawks at Jazz – 9:00 pm ET

Our OptaAI projections have Daniels scoring only 11.06 points against the Jazz tonight. That’s 3.44 lower than his point total of 14.5, which is available at -120. Daniels has scored 10 or fewer points in four consecutive games, and he’s averaging only 9.1 points per game this season. Will the struggles continue?

Royce O’Neale Over 2.5 Made 3s (-148) vs. Pacers

Pacers at Suns – 9:00 pm ET

It’s juicy to take O’Neale to go Over 2.5 made 3s, but our projections have him knocking down 3.34 against the Pacers. O’Neale is shooting 45.3% from 3 and making 3.6 triples per game on the season. He has also knocked down at least three 3s in four straight games.

Thursday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Thursday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

RJ Barrett Over 3.5 Assists (-128) vs. Cavaliers

Raptors at Cavaliers – 7:00 pm ET

Barrett has had at least four assists in six of the last seven games. Also, in that stretch, Barrett is averaging 8.0 potential assists and 5.3 adjusted assists assists, according to the NBA’s tracking data. Well, with this being a meeting between two teams that are currently in the top-10 in pace of play, it’s hard not to like the Raptors wing to continue making plays. While Barrett’s usage rate (23.1%) is down significantly from last year (28.1%), he’s still a big part of this offense.

I’ll also note that Barrett only had two assists in the last meeting with Cleveland, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. He had seven potential assists in that game. With some better luck, he should rebound in the assist column tonight.

Grayson Allen Over 15.5 Points (-122 – 1.5 units) & Alt 20+ (+200 – 0.5 units) vs. Pacers

Pacers at Suns – 9:00 pm ET

Allen has scored at least 16 points in the last four games he has played without Jalen Green. Well, Green is out for the next couple of weeks, meaning Allen’s going to continue to have a big role. Allen exploded for 42 points against the Pelicans on Monday, knocking down a franchise-best 10 triples. He then followed that up with a 23-point performance against the Mavericks.

Allen can’t be expected to pop off every single night, but the Pacers have struggled to defend dribble-handoffs and off-ball screens this season. That said, if Jordan Ott is going to continue to run a ton of offense around Allen’s ability to shoot, good things should happen here. OptaAI has Allen finishing with 18.60 points in tonight’s game, meaning a nice edge to the Over. I’m also taking it a step further by sprinkling Allen to score 20+.

Allen’s usage rate of 28.6% over the last two games is probably unsustainable, but I’d be surprised if Phoenix doesn’t get him a good number of touches tonight.
