Wednesday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Wednesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
Egor Demin Over 10.5 Points (-110) vs. Pelicans
Nets at Pelicans – 8:00 pm ET
Demin pretty clearly prefers playing in Brooklyn, where he has scored at least 13 points in seven consecutive games. He’s also shooting 43.4% from the field and 41.9% from 3 at home. On the road, he’s shooting only 34.2% from the floor and 34.2% from 3. Despite that, I’m still playing the Over on Demin’s point total tonight, as the matchup with the Pelicans is simply too favorable. New Orleans is just 29th in the NBA defending at the rim, and the team is also 26th defending above-the-break 3s. Well, Demin, who has a Moreyball-forward shot diet, scores 77% of his points in those two areas. And I’m especially interested in seeing how he shoots the 3, as he loves the non-corners and should get great looks here. Demin is also going up against a Pelicans team that is playing the second leg of a back-to-back, so the rookie will be attacking against tired legs. I think all of that should mean a night with at least 11 points.
Russell Westbrook Over 29.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-111) vs. Knicks
Knicks at Kings – 10:00 pm ET
Over the last 10 games, Westbrook has a usage rate of 27.9%. That’s up from his season-long usage of 24.8%. It’s not a coincidence that Sacramento is running more through Westbrook, as Domantas Sabonis, who is a high-level playmaking hub, is out right now. Also, Dennis Schroder is currently suspended for trying to slap Luka Doncic, meaning more opportunities for Westbrook. Well, Westbrook has been responding. He had 31 combined points, rebounds, and assists in a win over the Rockets two games ago. He followed it up with 34 combined points, rebounds, and assists in a win over the Lakers. Westbrook now faces a Knicks team that is awful against pick-and-roll ball handlers, and the team is also weak in transition. On top of that, New York doesn’t guard above-the-break 3s well, and Westbrook has been knocking them down this season. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t stuff the stat sheet tonight.
