Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Thursday, April 20:
Philadelphia 76ers (-4.5, 209.5) at Brooklyn Nets – Game 3
Dorian Finney-Smith hasn’t been quite as good with the Nets as he was with the Dallas Mavericks but going away from Luka Doncic as a lead ball handler will do that to you. Still, Finney-Smith is a starter for this Brooklyn team, and he gets a lot of good looks from deep. In fact, Finney-Smith attempted six triples in a Game 2 loss to the Sixers. Tonight, we’re hoping he stays confident and continues to let it fly.
Finney-Smith has hit two 3s in each of the two games in this series, and he has also hit multiple 3s in six of his last nine games. So, while Finney-Smith shot just 30.6% from deep after arriving in Brooklyn, the defensive-minded wing is still hitting shots. And we expect him to do so again in Game 3. Role players generally show up at home in the postseason, and the Nets will be counting on him to space the floor.
Bet: Finney-Smith Over 1.5 Made 3s (+105)
Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors (-6, 240) – Game 3
Andrew Wiggins has only one assists in the two games he has played in this series, but we like him to have three or more in Game 3. With Draymond Green suspended for this game, the Warriors will likely lean a little heavier on small-ball lineups with Wiggins at power forward.
Wiggins isn’t nearly the passer that Green is — not many are — but he’s going to get some opportunities to make plays for others out of the short roll. And with everything that’s on the line in this game, we trust him to make good decisions with the basketball.
It’s also nice that Wiggins is playing with two of the best shooters of all time. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are two guys that can help you rack up assists without doing anything special. If he just moves the ball and doesn’t constantly look to create for himself, this should be a stress-free winner.
Bet: Wiggins Over 2.5 Assists (-150)
Phoenix Suns (-3, 226.5) at Los Angeles Clippers – Game 3
Chris Paul came up big for the Suns in a Game 2 win, finishing with 16 points and eight assists in 38 minutes. Paul finally got the mid-range jumper going later in that game, and it’s just hard to see him having a hard time getting that look moving forward. Los Angeles would have to abandon Ivica Zubac at the center position in order for that to happen, as the big man’s drop coverage gives Paul a ton of time to get to his spots. However, it’s hard to see them actually benching Zubac, as the team can’t afford to not play a rim protector against an opponent that has Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
Also, the last time we saw Paul play a playoff game in this building was in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals two years ago. The Point God had 41 points and eight assists in that game, and he averaged 24.0 points per game in that series. This is a matchup that brings the best out of him, as this is his former team and the fans in Los Angeles don’t show him much respect. So, Paul likes to quiet them down and shove it in their faces. Paul also happens to live in Los Angeles, so a good night’s sleep in his own bed doesn’t hurt.
Bet: Paul Over 13.5 Points (-120)
