Lakers ML (+127) vs. Suns

Suns at Lakers – 10:30 pm ET

The Suns have built a new identity on showing up every night. That has led to a wildly successful season, despite heading into the year with zero expectations. However, Phoenix is completely locked into the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Los Angeles is playing to stay in the No. 4 seed, which would be big for the Lakers if Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves can find a way to return in the middle of their opening-round series.

The fact that this game means something to Los Angeles makes it hard to pass on LeBron James and Co. at plus-money odds. Phoenix also happens to be sitting Devin Booker and Jordan Goodwin, and Jalen Green is listed as questionable. That means the Suns are missing an All-NBA performer and a feisty point-of-attack defender. They could also be without another guy that gives them 20 points every night.

On top of all of that, there’s a chance Marcus Smart plays this evening, giving the Lakers some POA defense and overall energy.

Added Plays (Late Picks, Parlays, Teasers, Futures)

PARLAY: Hornets ML vs. Pistons & Hawks ML vs. Cavaliers (-105 – 1.5 units) – The Pistons are healthier than they have been in a while, but they have very little to play for. The Hornets, who badly need a victory, should be able to handle them in Charlotte. In the other game, the Cavaliers are resting Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Sam Merrill, so the Hawks should be able to clinch the Southeast Division and a top-six seed.

PARLAY: Rockets ML vs. Timberwolves & Trail Blazers Alt +8.5 vs. Clippers (-164) – The Timberwolves are locked into the No. 6 seed, and they’ll have starters missing tonight. That should mean nine straight wins for a Rockets team that is still looking to move up the standings. Then, with the Blazers, I’m taking extra points in a game that could very well determine the No. 8 seed in the West. I expect a grind of a game there, as it’s a playoff-like game with two teams that can really defend.
