NBA Best Bets Today – Tuesday, April 7

Heat ML (-102 – 1.5 units) vs. Raptors

Heat at Raptors – 7:30 pm ET

I put Miami in Monday night, but you can get a better price than I did now. It seems like there’s either sharp action favoring Toronto or positive insider news surrounding the status of Immanuel Quickley. Either way, I still like the Heat’s chances tonight.

Toronto is one of the weakest teams in the league when looking at the center position, while Bam Adebayo is one of the best bigs this league has to offer. With that in mind, I like Miami to really dominate the battle in the paint. The Heat also have some strong defensive wings to throw on Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes, and I also believe Miami has a pretty sizable edge over Toronto when looking at backcourt firepower.

The Heat have also been great in road games with tight spreads this year, going 8-3 straight-up and 9-2 against the spread when the line is +3 to -3. Meanwhile, the Raptors are playing their eighth game in 14 days tonight, which hasn’t been a good rest situation for them. They’re 3-7 SU and 1-9 ATS when playing at home in these spots.

This is also a game with massive playoff implications. And while I do think Darko Rajakovic is a good head coach, I trust Erik Spoelstra to have his guys locked in and prepared for a must-win contest.

Suns ML (-112) vs. Rockets

Rockets at Suns – 11:00 pm ET

The Suns haven’t been playing well lately, but they’re set to return home for the first time since March 28. This will also be Dillon Brooks’ first home game since returning from his injury. All of that should mean an energetic home crowd, plus a hyped-up Phoenix team.

This matchup is also one that should be quite strong for a full-strength Suns squad. Phoenix is the second-best team in the league when looking at opponent three-point makes per game (12.1). The Suns also force more turnovers per game (16.4) than all but two teams. Well, the Rockets really aren’t a great team along the perimeter, and they can also struggle with turnovers late in games.

Houston is also just 21-19 with a net rating of +2.7 on the road this season, while Phoenix is 24-15 with a net rating of +3.9 at home. Considering all of that, this feels like a good number to be backing the Suns. I’ll also note that Reed Sheppard could be an issue for Houston in this one. While he does bring a lot to the table offensively, his lack of athleticism could be a problem against Devin Booker and Jalen Green tonight. Those two have been going crazy together.
