We’re more than halfway into the 2024-25 NBA season. I’ll continue giving out NBA best bets and player props here as often as possible, and I’ll also occasionally write up features on big news that shakes up the league. So, make sure you check out my work throughout the season. With that out of the way, let’s get into some NBA best bets and NBA player props for Monday, February 10th. Also, make sure you check out the picks page (linked right below) before games tip off. I occasionally add picks throughout the day.

NBA Best Bets Today – February 10th
Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks – 8:30 pm ET
It’s hard not to feel for Mavericks fans right now. After the trade that stunned the entire NBA world, Anthony Davis actually went out and balled out in his debut for Dallas. But Davis ended up leaving the game with a groin injury, and it now seems like he’s going to be out indefinitely. Considering a big part of Nico Harrison’s thinking in dealing Luka Doncic for Davis was that it made the team’s defense much better — giving the group a chance to win this year — that’s a brutal blow. And Davis’ presence could be missed as early as tonight.
With Dereck Lively II also out for the Mavericks, this team just isn’t going to have the type of interior defender you need against Domantas Sabonis. The Kings center should be able to feast against Daniel Gafford and Co. Also, while Kyrie Irving, Max Christie and Klay Thompson make up a good group on the perimeter, Sacramento has a nice trio in Malik Monk, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. So, the Kings should be in good shape there. On top of that, given some of Dallas’ injuries, Sacramento should feel good about its depth.
It’s also just a little hard to ignore that the Mavericks are just 34-41 straight-up under Jason Kidd when facing teams that score at least 116.0 points per game. For as good as Dallas is defensively, a very good offensive team can occasionally get to the group. And overall, I do think this is a game that’s going to come down to shot-making, and I trust the Kings a little more there.
Bet: Kings ML (-102 – 1.5 units)
NBA Player Props Today – February 10th
Minnesota Timberwolves at Cleveland Cavaliers – 7:00 pm ET
Since the start of February, Naz Reid is averaging 19.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He has also gone Over tonight’s combined points, rebounds and assists total of 28.5 in four consecutive games. As long as Julius Randle is out for the Timberwolves, Reid is going to have a ton of opportunities to put up big numbers. And Randle is out tonight.
Of course, going up against a Cavaliers team with a massive frontcourt is baked into this price. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen both have the length required to contest a lot of Reid’s shots. However, Reid is going to be able to beat both of them off the dribble. And a lot of his 3-point attempts end up being open catch-and-shoot opportunities that come from pick-and-pop plays. He’s also a good off-ball mover and great movement shooter for a guy his size. That said, I don’t see Reid failing to find good looks at the basket here.
If anything, the rebounds could be harder to come by against Cleveland’s trees, but I think Reid will be just fine on the glass. And I simply see this being a game in which his offense will do most of the heavy lifting in getting this play home.
Bet: Reid Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120)
San Antonio Spurs at Washington Wizards – 7:00 pm ET
According to our NBA player prop analyzer, De’Aaron Fox has had at least five rebounds in 30 of the 48 games he has played this season. So, seeing the Over on 4.5 rebounds at plus-money odds is difficult to pass up. I know he has only hit this mark in one of the three games he has played with the Spurs, and battling for rebounds with Victor Wembanyama’s pool noodle arms on your side might not be as necessary as it was for Fox in Sacramento. But Fox was averaging 5.0 rebounds per game with the Kings, and he averaged 4.6 rebounds per game the year before. He’s a good rebounder at the guard position, so I’m willing to back him at this number. You only have to go back to last month for a game in which Fox had five boards against Washington.
Bet: Fox Over 4.5 Rebounds (+114)
Additional Plays
This is where I’ll include any late added plays, teasers/parlays or in-season futures. Come back before tip if you don’t want to miss anything. It’s always possible I’ll add something to my card.
PARLAY: Magic ML vs. Hawks & Nuggets ML vs. Blazers (-115 – 2 units) – The Magic are starting to round into form, as they come into this game after having won two of their last three. One of those wins was a road beatdown of the Kings, and their last win was a hard-fought victory over the Spurs. Now, I think it’s fair to start treating Orlando like we did earlier in the season. That said, I’m taking the Magic to beat a struggling Hawks team tonight. Orlando is just such a good defensive team that it should be difficult for Atlanta to create easy offense. And the Hawks are so bad defensively that they could make a mediocre Magic team look good offensively. Also, Orlando has been great as a home favorite under Jamahl Mosley.
As for the Blazers and Nuggets, I just can’t get there with Portland. I understand this is one of the hottest teams in basketball, but the Blazers are bound to cool down soon. They have too many poor individual defenders to maintain this type of solid team defense, and I strongly believe Nikola Jokic is going to crack the code tonight. It’s also just very difficult to win in Denver, so I anticipate this being a game in which Portland could struggle a bit offensively.
Jazz +13 (-110 – 2 units) vs. Lakers
Jaxson Hayes Over 13.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)
