NBA 2K26 Summer League Predictions for Tuesday, July 15th
The NBA 2K26 Summer League, which takes place in VSiN’s backyard of Las Vegas, Nevada, is here. This event is like the NBA’s version of Comic-Con, as all of the stars, coaches, front office executives and media personalities tend to show up in Sin City. However, the main attraction is the actual basketball itself, which generally features some of the top prospects from the NBA Draft hooping in their new colors for the first time.
For the format of the 2025 Vegas Summer League, check out Jonathan Von Tobel’s in-depth look at the action. However, for some daily best bets, I’ll continue to keep you covered. That said, keep reading for my plays for Tuesday, July 15th.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Detroit Pistons – 4:30 pm ET
As far as summer league games go, this is a massive matchup. Minnesota and Detroit are both sitting at 2-0 coming into this one, and there are five teams that already have three wins. So, one of these teams will take a real hit with a loss here. And I ultimately think it’ll be the Pistons that end up in the loss column — and I like the Timberwolves to cover the number.
Minnesota’s duo of Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr. has arguably looked like the best two-man combination in Vegas so far. Those two bring shot creation, flair, energy and everything else you can possibly want in this setting. The Timberwolves have also gotten some awesome rim protection out of Joan Beringer, and Leonard Miller is a matchup nightmare for opposing forwards. Miller’s shot hasn’t looked good, but he’s very hard to stop as a downhill driver.
Detroit does have some players. Ronald Holland II has looked every bit as good as the two Minnesota guys, and Daniss Jenkins has been great running the show for the Pistons. But the Timberwolves are just a little bit better and deeper.
Bet: Timberwolves -4 (-110)
Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks – 6:00 pm ET
I had a lot of belief in Brooklyn heading into the Vegas Summer League, so this 0-2 start for the Nets hurts. However, Brooklyn played Oklahoma City and Washington close. So, this isn’t your standard winless team. New York is. The Knicks are 0-2 with a point differential of -15.5, as they got blown out by the Pistons and Celtics.
Realistically, New York is lighter on talent than most of the teams in the competition, and it doesn’t help that Tyler Kolek, the exact type of guy you’d expect to play well here, has been horrendous. Meanwhile, Brooklyn is absolutely loaded with good basketball players. Sure, that hasn’t meant any wins just yet, but the Nets should be able to beat this Knicks team.
Drew Timme will likely be the X-factor here. He’s capable of dominating games around the basket, but his slow feet on the other end can hurt his teams. Well, his defense likely won’t be as big of a problem against a New York squad that lacks firepower.
Bet: Nets -3.5 (-108)
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic – 6:30 pm ET
Like the Nets, the Magic aren’t as bad as their 0-2 record in Vegas. Orlando lost by three against Sacramento in its Thursday opener, then the team lost to Toronto by three on Sunday. But there’s really no reason the Magic can’t finish strong in this event. Jase Richardson has looked absolutely incredible running the Orlando offense, Tristan da Silva is a versatile forward that can score in a number of different ways and the rest of the team isn’t bad either. Noah Penda, Wendell Moore Jr., Skal Labissiere and Ethan Thompson have all had moments in Vegas.
Oklahoma City has two very good guards in Nikola Topic and Ajay Mitchell, but I like the way Orlando can cover those guys. And with the Thunder not having Thomas Sorber, their first-round pick this year, the rest of the team isn’t exactly scary.
Perhaps the Magic just have a close-game problem, but I think that’s an absurd thing to say about Summer League — and even more absurd to say about two games of Summer League. So, I think the Magic, who are the more talented team, will finally get in the win column. But I’m playing the spread a little bigger.
Bet: Magic +4.5 (-110) & Magic ML (+165 – 0.5 units)
Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies – 10:30 pm ET
I’m not sure what the Grizzlies will do with some of their older players, like GG Jackson and Jaylen Wells, but our VSiN NBA Summer League betting splits show some sharp money on Memphis. That leads me to believe that there’s some positive information out there about the status of those guys.
If the Grizzlies do have most of their important bodies, they should win this game somewhat comfortably. Both of these teams enter this game at 1-1, but Memphis entered the tournament with some championship aspirations. Meanwhile, Golden State got romped by a weak Portland team and has one of the worst rosters in the entire field.
This just feels like it could be a Grizzlies beatdown. They can still go on to the playoffs if they can win this game and improve their point differential, so they’ll be out for blood.
Bet: Grizzlies -4.5 (-110)
