Special programming note: The Circa Million and Circa Survivor guaranteed prize money will be announced today at 5 p.m. ET on Follow The Money with Mitch Moss and Pauly Howard. Circa’s Derek Stevens, Jeff Benson and Mike Palm will give us the scoop on the money and a new wrinkle this year. OK, maybe more than a wrinkle.
Well, that certainly was quite a Game 1 in the Pacers-Knicks series.
As you can see from the photo above, Tyrese Haliburton’s game-tying shot bounced off the rim so high that it wasn’t even in the TV frame when the buzzer went off before falling through the net to force overtime.
That completed an Indiana comeback from down 14 with 2:50 left and down 8 with 41 seconds left as the Pacers (+4.5) then went on to win 138-135 in OT.
Here are the final minutes in case you turned the game off early.
If you had the Knicks, my condolences. And if you had the Pacers, maybe play the lottery today.
Game 2 is Friday with the Knicks favored by 5.5.
Game 2 in the West is tonight (8:30 ET, ESPN) with the Thunder leading 1-0 and favored by 7.5 vs. the Timberwolves.
VSiN.com senior editor Zach Cohen breaks down the matchup and has a Best Bet:
All complaints aside, the Timberwolves didn’t lose Game 1 because of the officiating. Minnesota lost because the team was careless with the basketball and settled for awful shots.
Dan Karpuc and Steve Makinen will post their contributions later this morning.
>>Check for selections in the KillerSports NBA Playoff Challenge after 7:30 p.m. ET.
Hurricanes-Panther II
Jonathan Davis will post his picks later this morning for tonight’s Hurricanes-Panthers Game 2 (8 ET, TNT). Carolina, down 1-0, is a -130 favorite at Circa.
In the West opener on Wednesday night, the Stars (-125) rallied from two down with five goals in the third period to win 6-3.
MLB Today
Greg Peterson already has filed his top plays for today.
Josh Appelbaum and Steve Makinen will post their Best Bet contributions later this morning.
