With the start of the 2026-27 NBA season comes the start of New York’s title defense. The Knicks ended a 53-year championship drought last season, and Jalen Brunson and Co. will now attempt to win two in a row. Unfortunately for them, they won’t have it easy.
Philadelphia added Jaylen Brown and LeBron James to a core of Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, Indiana has Tyrese Haliburton back from his torn Achilles, Boston has a ton of talent surrounding Jayson Tatum, Miami added Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Toronto brought Kawhi Leonard back. The Western Conference also remains a beast, with Oklahoma City and San Antonio leading the pack.
