Bengals vs. Cowboys Analysis

The Bengals are the popular bet in this Monday Night Football game, according to our DraftKings betting splits and Circa betting splits. Nearly three quarters of the bets are on Cincinnati to cover, and I can’t blame anybody for thinking the Bengals should win this one convincingly. For as bad as Cincinnati’s defense has been this season, one would think the unit is good enough to slow down a Cooper Rush-led offense. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow and the league’s seventh-best EPA per play offense (0.099) will be working against a Dallas defense that is 28th in the league in EPA per play allowed (0.065).

It’s very hard to imagine a scenario in which the Bengals fail to light up the scoreboard. However, they also need to be able to keep the opponent from doing the same. And even if it is Rush under center, Cincinnati has allowed at least 34 points in each of its last five games. This Bengals team hasn’t been able to stop anybody.

I’d probably lean towards laying the points with Cincinnati if I had to bet a side in this one. It doesn’t hurt that the Bengals are 5-1 against the spread on the road. However, I feel better about going Over the total. These are two bottom-five defenses when it comes to EPA per play allowed, and we know the conditions here will be favorable for the offenses. Also, the Over is 9-3 in Cincinnati games this season, and it’s also 8-4 in Dallas games.

Bengals vs. Cowboys Player Props

Joe Burrow To Throw 3+ TDs (+205)

If you’re looking to the props market in this game, you might as well look for a nice pay day somewhere. This game has the potential to be extremely high scoring, so players might blow away expectations. And when thinking about how this game might play out, how can you not like Burrow to turn in a special performance? Burrow has actually thrown for at least three touchdowns in each of his last four games. He has also done so in six of his last 10 games. Burrow is fully healthy and has a great grasp of this offense right now. And while the Cowboys are better against the pass than they are against the run, Dallas might sell out a bit to try and stop the bleeding in the ground game. That would give Burrow some more chances to make big-time throws. And even if that’s not the case, the Cowboys don’t have anybody that can cover Ja’Marr Chase.

Bengals vs. Cowboys Pick

You should be able to find 48.5 at a reasonable price, but don’t sweat it if you have to play it at a higher number. Cincinnati’s games haven’t just been going Over, they’ve been flying Over. This Bengals team is going to regularly march the ball down the field in this one. That feels like a sure thing. We just need a little help from the Cowboys, and I think we’re going to get it.

Bet: Over 48.5 (-116)
