Circa Million Recap:
An entrant using the contest alias of Team BP has won the $1 million first-place prize in the Circa Sports Million in Las Vegas.
The handicapping contest, which involves picking five NFL games a week against the spread, is in its sixth season and drew 5,817 entries at $1,000 apiece. Circa owner Derek J. Stevens has guaranteed a $1 million top prize since creating CSM before the 1999 season and this year guaranteed a $6,000 prize pool, so there was a $183,000 overlay for players in the no-rake contest.

Team BP, who hasn’t revealed their identity as of Sunday night, entered Week 18, the final week of the contest, with 59.5 points (players earn one point per win, 0.5 per push) at 58-24-3 (70.7%), half a point behind VICTORY FORMATION at 59-24-2 (72%) for 60 points.
However, all the top contenders struggled in Sunday’s early games as favorites went 1-7 ATS vs. Circa’s contest lines. None of the Top 9 teams on the leaderboard were above .500 by the end of the early games around 1:30 p.m. PT.
In fact, Team BP started the week with a push on the Bengals -2 in their 19-17 win over the Steelers on Saturday night. They also went 0-2 in the early Sunday games, losing with the Buccaneers -13.5 in their come-from-behind 27-19 win vs. the Saints and the Commanders -5 in their 23-19 win at the Cowboys. VICTORY FORMATION won with the Texans +2 in their 23-14 win at the Titans, but – just like Team BP – also lost with the Bucs and Commanders, plus the Bills -2 in their 23-16 loss at the Patriots.
The key to Team BP’s million-dollar payday was the fact it had the Broncos -10.5 in a 38-0 shutout of the Chiefs, while VICTORY FORMATION was on the Chiefs. With that game a no-doubter, both teams had 61 points and in a virtual tie, but Team BP still had an ace in the hole in the Chargers -4 as they rallied to win and cover in a 34-20 win at the Raiders.
Team BP’s final record of 60-26-4 (69.7%) and 62 points falls just short of Durbify’s record of 63-27 (70%) and 63 points in Circa Sports Million III during the 2021-22 season.
With most of the top teams limping to the finish line, Path2Victory moved from a tie for fifth place entering Week 18 to go 3-1-1 to finish 61-28-1 (68.5%) for 61.5 points and earn the runner-up prize of $500,000.
VICTORY FORMATION doesn’t walk away empty handed as they will finish in a tie for third place with ROBMOTAG and each collecting $375,000 apiece.
