Circa Survivor Bengals:
There is something of a running joke for those who sign up for the football contests at Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas that it is the most expensive hat you’ll ever buy. The $1,000 entry gives you a chance to win life-changing money in either the Circa Survivor or Circa Million, but the one thing you definitely “win” is a hat bearing the contest name and logo upon sign-up.
The Cincinnati Bengals produced a lot of expensive hats in Week 1. 4,895 of them, to be exact.

When all the dust settled following a robust week of sign-ups in the Circa Survivor, $14,206,000 went into the prize pool thanks to the 14,206 entries. The excitement was short-lived for a large percentage of those entries, as the Bengals wiped out more than a third of the field with their shocking loss at the hands of the Patriots.
While that was the biggest upset, it wasn’t the only one, as the Falcons claimed 431 victims as the sixth-most popular pick. We still have one game to go in Week 1 (123 on 49ers, 1 on Jets), but 5,563 entries are already down and out. That represents just over 39% of the field.
It could have been much, much worse, as the Bills snatched victory from the jaws of defeat when it did not look good against the Cardinals. Buffalo was picked by 12% of the field and was the third-most popular selection. Had the Bills lost, more than 50% of the field would have been gone in the blink of an eye.
There were 45 entries that did not submit a pick, so that was a quick $45,000 worth of entries in the prize pool as dead money. Interestingly, 31 of the 32 NFL teams were taken in Week 1. The only one not taken? The Rams, who went to OT with the Lions, but lost 26-20.
Upsets are nothing new during the NFL season, but one of this magnitude in Week 1 was an expensive, sobering reminder that nothing is a lock in sports betting for a lot of Circa Survivor contestants.
