NFL First TD Scorer:
Week 14 has a more traditional format, as we don’t get four games prior to Sunday. We only get one, but we do have six teams enjoying a week off. So, we’ve got 26 teams to think about for the First Touchdown Scorer market and 13 games to compare and contrast.
Before digging into all of this week’s stuff, let’s recap the first touchdowns by position from last week:

QB: 32 (1)

WR: 134 (10)
TE: 45 (8)

No TD: 25 (0)
I believe eight first team TDs is the best week of the season for tight ends. That’s now 14 first team TDs in the last two weeks for the TE. Maybe something to watch as we go forward. Maybe not. But, time will tell.
It is also nice that we had all 32 teams in action and everybody scored at least one touchdown.
Here are all the guys with a minimum three first team TDs and the counts of how many were the first TD in the game.

For some other miscellaneous trends and nuggets:
- The Packers are 75% for the season and have scored the first TD in each of their three games since the bye
- The Vikings are still among the league’s best, but they have failed to score first in four of the last five games
- Philly’s FTD luck may have run out. They have not scored the first TD in three straight games. They still haven’t scored on their first possession this season.
- The Texans have the game’s first TD in five straight and seven of nine.
- The Giants scored the first TD for the first time since Week 2. The Jets scored the first TD for the first time since Week 7.

Let’s get to the Week 14 action. I’ll be using DraftKings odds because they’re widely available, but SHOP AROUND for the best prices. Sportsbooks are all over the place on the FTD market, and the onus is on you to get as much bang for your buck as possible.
As mentioned a couple weeks ago, I’m going to be publishing this on Thursday because DK is getting slower about posting the touchdown market odds and I want to make sure as many games are available as possible.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bucky Irving +500, Mike Evans +650
The Buccaneers have played 12 games this season. Mike Evans has missed three of them. In the nine games that Evans has played, the Bucs have scored first in seven of them. He has five first team TDs himself. Evans missed Weeks 8, 9, and 10, where the Bucs failed to score on their first possession and went 1-2 in the first TD department.
Of the nine games Evans has played, the Bucs have scored on their first possession in five of them. Rachaad White has two first team TDs, which ranks third behind Evans and Chris Godwin, who hasn’t played since Week 7. White had the first TD in Week 9 and Week 10, so two of the three weeks without Evans.
Irving has yet to crack the list, but he is said to be good to go this week. He has 29 rush attempts in the red zone compared to 14 for White, so I’ll take my chances there.
Los Angeles Chargers: Will Dissly +1700, Justin Herbert +2000, Kimani Vidal +2500
Three shots at a quarter or a third of a unit here. The pricing is pretty messed up here in my opinion, as there are Chiefs at +550 (Isiah Pacheco), Kareem Hunt (+800), and Travis Kelce (+800) before any Charger. The Chargers have done way better in this department than the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes isn’t even having that good of a season.
Vidal is going to have to get some opportunities with J.K. Dobbins hurt and it’s a much larger number than +900 on Gus Edwards, who had six carries and a catch on 24 snaps. Vidal had four carries on just 12 snaps. Edwards has never been much of a pass catcher, so I’m guessing Vidal is the third-down back and I could see a TD scamper.
Herbert actually has two first team TDs in the last four weeks and a defensive back had the first TD last week.
Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown +450, Ja’Marr Chase +500
I’m not going to get cute at all here. Brown is almost literally an every down back now, playing at least 80% of the snaps each of the last four weeks. The Cowboys have allowed 14 rushing TD to running backs this season.
Joe Burrow has spread around the first TD love overall this season, but not lately. Chase and Brown have the last four combined offensive first TDs for Cincy. Cam Taylor-Britt scored first on a pick-six last week, but Brown had the first offensive TD. Chase had the second.
A lot of things have gone wrong this season for Cincinnati, but they’ve been good about scoring the first TD.
