I’m incredibly fired up and honored to join such an incredible and respected company. Our new daily show “Make it Rain with Adam Schein” starts Thursday at 3 p.m. ET on VSiN. It’s going to be a passionate, opinionated, knowledgeable, entertaining, high-energy, one-hour show that tells you what to do with your money. And what I am doing with mine. Great sports talk and takes where everything equals fun and smart wagering. Can’t wait to pick every NFL game against the spread. We will pick our playoff teams for the upcoming season on Thursday’s show.
And I am excited to bring my Schein9 columns to VSiN as well. I will write every Tuesday and Friday.
To get the fun started, here are our favorite Over / Under win total predictions for the upcoming season, Schein9 style.
Favorite Win Total Predictions
1). Broncos Over 5.5 Wins (-140)
This is my favorite Over / Under bet of the year. It’s beyond offensive to think that a Sean Payton-coached team only wins five games. It’s never happened in his Hall of Fame caliber career as a head coach. I’m obsessed with the Payton / Bo Nix coach and play-caller / quarterback combo. Nix is super experienced for a rookie. Payton’s Broncos beat the Chiefs and Bills last year. He knows how to maximize a roster. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if they win in Seattle Week 1 and beat the Steelers at home in the Russell Wilson return Week 2.
2). Bills Over 9.5 Wins (-145)
The Bills lost talent this off-season, but Josh Allen is a superstar. He carried the team to the playoffs down the stretch last year and has a gift for making everyone better. Allen will win league MVP this year. Dalton Kincaid and James Cook will get to another level. And in talking to Allen on my SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio “Schein On Sports” show, it’s pretty clear he loves the chemistry of this Bills team.
3). Dolphins Under 9.5 Wins (+115)
Good juice here, and not enough good or healthy players on defense. The Christian Wilkins defection was a monster deal in the off-season. Buffalo is better. The Jets are significantly better. I think Miami starts 0-2 against the Jags and Bills. The schedule finish is rough with at Packers, Jets, at Texans, 49ers, at Browns, and at the Jets to finish. And with the games at Green Bay, Cleveland, and the Jets late, we’ve seen how Miami plays in cold weather. And how Tua struggles mightily to win big games.
4). Bears Over 9.5 Wins (+120)
I hope you got this after the schedule release at Over 8.5. I love Caleb Williams. He’s special and generational. And Chicago has him brilliantly surrounded with stud receivers in DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and Keenan Allen. Chicago’s defense was excellent down the stretch last year after the Montez Sweat trade. I like the Bears to make the playoffs this year as a wild card and win 11 games.
5). Cowboys Over 9.5 Wins (-145)
I’m not asking Dallas to make a Super Bowl run. I just need 10 wins. Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys have won 12 games each of the last 3 regular seasons. Dak Prescott is a top-10 quarterback. CeeDee Lamb is a star. Mike Zimmer was a great choice to be the defensive coordinator. Talking to McCarthy on our radio show, he raved about the incredible work this team put in during camp and the incredible chemistry. A down year for Dallas means 11 wins.
6). Jets Over 10.5 Wins (+115)
Love the juice here. And love the Jets roster. Aaron Rodgers is healthy. He’s fired up after last year. Rodgers was very energetic when we spoke this offseason on our SiriusXM radio show. Breece Hall will be a top-three running back this year. Garrett Wilson will resemble Davante Adams playing with Rodgers. The Jets line is revamped. And the Jets defense is top five in the NFL. It’s okay to believe in the Jets!
7). Jaguars Over 8.5 Wins (-120)
While I like Houston to make the playoffs and win the division, don’t sleep on the Jags, who were 8-3 and en route to the No. 1 seed last year before Trevor Lawrence got hurt. I think Lawrence has the best year of his career. I loved the Brian Thomas pick. The defense has improved. The run game is really solid.
8). Saints Over 7.5 Wins (-120)
The disrespect for New Orleans when the Saints won nine games and everything that could go wrong went wrong last year is wild. Derek Carr finished the season healthy and piping hot. He told me on my SiriusXM radio show that the team is 10 times ahead of where they were last year heading into the season. Chris Olave is terrific. The defense still has great talent.
9). Rams Over 10.5 Wins (+195)
The number is 8.5 at -160 which gives you no value at all. So let’s boost. I love Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford. I love the weapons on offense. The Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp receiver combo is elite. I love Blake Corum. (Draft him on your fantasy team late.) The defense still has terrific players up front even without Aaron Donald. LA has 11 or 12 wins written all over them in a league where an elite coach and quarterback matter greatly.
Others if my last name rhymed with 13…
Steelers Under 7.5 Wins (+125)… Russell Wilson is cooked.
Patriots Under 4.5 Wins (+110)… New England is the worst team in the NFL.
Vikings Over 6.5 Wins (-140)… Kevin O’Connell will maximize Sam Darnold. I remain a Sam Darnold truther.
Eagles Over 10.5 Wins (-130)… New coordinators on both sides of the ball. Saquon Barkley will have the best year of his career.
