Week 2 NFL Predictions
The only thing better than betting on Week 1 of the NFL season? Looking ahead to Week 2 to get a head start on the market and grab a bet or two before lines start to get hammered into efficiency. I’m personally off to a 4-1 start in the NFL in Week 1, cashing both primetime dogs this week, as well as a Cooper Kupp receiving prop and the 49ers/Rams first half Under on Thursday. Here’s what sticks out to me for week two, based on my early TSI projections.
Atlanta Falcons (-1.5) vs Carolina Panthers, O/U 43.5
I’m always on the lookout for divisional game totals, because those tend to go Under the total more often than not, likely due to team familiarity. For this game specifically, TSI projects 43 total points, but Falcons’ QB Tua Tagovailoa has an injured oblique and is out for Week 1 already. The market moved heavily against the Falcons in Week 1, and the total dropped 1.5 points already, so this Week 2 total is likely coming down as well. Let’s grab it before it ends up on a key number like 42.
Bet: Under 43.5 (Play to 42.5)
Denver Broncos (-2.5) vs Jacksonville Jaguars, O/U 44.5
Sorry to be boring, but I like another Under here. This isn’t a divisional game, of course, but these are two middling offenses who are likely to be more defensive-minded teams this season. TSI projects just 43 points in this game, which allows us to grab the Under above the key number of 44 in totals betting. We’re already seeing the price get more expensive on the Under, and after the Broncos play Monday Night Football against the Chiefs this week, the market is sure to want to get in on this. Short week, defensive teams, and TSI projection all in agreement make me love this Under.
Bet: Under 44.5 (Play to 44)
