Week 6 NFL Best Bets and Props from Mike Somich:
Detroit Lions (-3; 52) vs. Dallas Cowboys
The highest total of the week promises to have points a plenty, but I expect that only one of the two offenses is able to hit high gear here.
The Lions exit the bye week at 3-1, chasing the Vikings in the division, while the Cowboys come off a late-night win in Pittsburgh on Sunday night. That is a massive edge for a Lions team that is as close to full health as you can get at this point. Conversely, the Cowboys are banged up all over the place, but they have been hit the worst on the defensive side of the ball. They are without the top two players in their front seven and missing pieces in the secondary as well. The Lions should be able to establish the run and successfully throw the ball off of that action.

It was interesting to see the Steelers’ strategy against this Cowboys defense was to attack through the air. If that’s the case here with the Lions, I like the Jameson Williams Over receiving yards and will play some 100+ receiving yards at +1100.
The Cowboys should be able to score in chase mode, but I do not think it will be enough to cover the number. CeeDee Lamb should have every opportunity to clear his props, but 84.5 is a robust number.
Week 6 NFL Best Bets: Detroit Lions -3,
Jameson Williams Over 44.5 Receiving Yards,
Jameson Williams 100+ Receiving Yards 11-1
Atlanta Falcons (-6; 46.5) vs. Carolina Panthers
I have been pounding the Over drum for this Panthers team since Andy Dalton took over at QB, and they are 3-0 to the Over since that game. We are staying the course here.
This Carolina defense was not good before the injury bug took a bit out of them and now they just have no one left. They struggle to stop the run, cannot rush the passer and give up explosives in the passing game. That is a great combination for an Over defense.
The offense has been better under Dalton with the ability to get to double digits in each game since he took over the quarterback position. Last week versus the Bears was the low output, but that defense is much better than this Falcons unit that struggles to rush the passer. With additional time, Dalton should be able to distribute the ball through the air and put up enough points to lead this game Over the 46.5 total.
Let’s take a Mooney prop here as well, Over 21.5 yards longest reception.
Week 6 NFL Best Bet: Over 46.5
Darnell Mooney Longest Reception Over 21.5 Yards
PROP PLAYS:
DJ Moore Over 61.5 Receiving Yards, 100+ Receiving Yards +350
Jacksonville has been a mess on defense all year and have been giving up explosives all over the field this season in man coverage. That will play right into DJ Moore’s hand in London this week. He should have multiple opportunities to make big plays for a Bears offense that hit their stride last week. Let’s take the over and a shot at 100+ yards as well.
