Tuesday’s NHL schedule features 11 games and there are plenty of player prop betting opportunities, but I want to focus on New Jersey Devils’ forward Ondrej Palat, who should be on every NHL bettors’ radar heading into the All-Star break. The Devils are in action on Tuesday against the Golden Knights. Read on to find out why Palat is a good bet to register a point against Vegas.

Best NHL Player Prop Bet for Tuesday, January 24th

Ondrej Palat (New Jersey Devils) Over 0.5 Points +105

Ondrej Palat was the Devils’ big offseason acquisition but, apparently, they would’ve been fine without him. The team was just starting to get their footing under them when Palat was taken out of the lineup, and he’s been eased back into the lineup since returning on Jan. 5th. Palat only saw 13 minutes of ice time on average over his first five games, but over the last three games, he’s exceeded his career average of 16:29 and bettors should expect increased productions out of the veteran forward going forward.

Palat has three points in his last four games playing on the top line with captain Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt, who have both been on heaters as of late. Hischier has points in 15 of his last 16 games, while Bratt has points in 11 of his last 15 games. Of course, both of Hischier and Bratt play on the top power play unit, and Palat does not, but I’m willing to bet that he can outperform his current odds now that the ice time issues have been rectified.

Over the past two season with Tampa Bay, Palat produced more than 2.5 points per 60, but he’s nowhere near that mark this season. The veteran forward has only scored 0.43 points per game (1.56 points per 60) this season, which is his worst mark since his rookie season. However, only four teams have scored more goals per 60 minutes than the Devils in the month of January and given the success that his linemates are currently having, Palat should start producing points like a top line player in no time.
