NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets:

Minnesota Wild (35-14-10) at Utah Mammoth (30-24-4)

Wild (+115) at Mammoth (-140) – Total 6 (Over, -130)

9 p.m. ET

Minnesota is coming off a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche last night at home. Most importantly, they cashed the Over for the 19th time in their last 21 games. It was by no means easy, as we needed four goals in the final five minutes of the third period to push this game Over the total.

Minnesota is 0-2 this season in their next game after playing Colorado. The Wild are (3-6) this season on the back end of back-to-backs. Tonight, they play at elevation with no rest.

Utah has won the last four meetings between the two teams, scoring at least four goals in each of the last three meetings. They held Minnesota to two or fewer goals in all four. I will be on the Mammoth tonight and grab the (-1 goal) available at BetRivers. Once again, I will be on the Over 6 (available at FanDuel).

The Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov has five goals in ten games against Utah goalie Karel Vejmelka. Utah’s Dylan Guenther opened the scoring for Utah in their game against Colorado on Thursday, scoring Utah’s first goal for the eighth time this season.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Utah Mammoth (-1 goal) +148 – 2 units
Minnesota Wild/Utah Mammoth Over 6 (-130) – 2 units
Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal (+170) – .15 units
Dylan Guenther anytime goal (+190) – .15 units
Dylan Guenther 1st Utah goal (+600) – .05 units
Kaprizov/Kyle Connor (WPG) each Over 2.5 shots on goal (+107) – 1 unit

Winnipeg Jets (23-26-8) at Anaheim Ducks (31-23-8)

Jets (+105) at Ducks (-125) – Total 6 (Over, -115)

10 p.m. ET

I am anticipating Connor Hellebuyck to make his first start between the pipes for the Winnipeg Jets since winning the gold medal for Team USA at the Olympics. The Jets currently sit nine points back of Seattle for the second wild card spot and do have a game in hand on the Kraken, who have lost their first two games coming out of the Olympic break.

Kyle Connor scored the Jets’ opening goal on Thursday in their 3-2 overtime win over Vancouver on Thursday. Connor scored the Jets’ first goal of the game 11 times this season, including in their only game against the Ducks earlier this season. The Jets forward has 13 goals in 21 career games against Anaheim.

Cole Perfetti has been piling up the shots on goal of late. He has at least three shots on goal in five consecutive games. Credit my good friend @Covers_josh for finding this player prop. Defenseman Logan Stanley is on Winnipeg’s top power play unit. I will play him to pick up a power play point at +750.

The Ducks are coming off a 6-5 win over Edmonton on Thursday, scoring the winning goal with just over a minute to go in regulation. It was Anaheim’s first lead of the game and extended their winning streak to three games and their home winning streak to six games. Tonight is game two of their seven-game homestand.

Anaheim has won three of the last four meetings with the Jets. Winnipeg is 3-11 this season as a road underdog and 5-18 overall as an underdog this season. The Jets have given up three goals or more in all 11 losses as a road underdog and four goals or more in nine of those losses. They have given up three goals or more in 17 of their 18 losses as an underdog and four goals or more in 14 of those losses.

I am backing Anaheim to win tonight, and while it’s tempting to grab the “plus money” on Over 3.5 goals, for now, I will play the Ducks on the money line. Defenseman Jackson LaCombe has picked up an assist in 13 of the last 16 games.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Anaheim Ducks ML (-125) – 2 units
Jackson LaCombe Over ½ assist (+100) – .25 units
Kyle Connor anytime goal (+165) – .15 units
Kyle Connor 1st Jets goal of the game (+500) – .05 units
Cole Perfetti Over 2.5 shots on goal (+120) – .25 units
