NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Colorado Avalanche

Pittsburgh (+180) at Colorado (-220) – Total 6.5 (Over, -120)

9 p.m. ET

The Penguins are coming off a 5-3 loss at Chicago on Tuesday and now face an Avalanche team that just split a pair of games against the Dallas Stars and earned three of a possible four points (win and shootout loss). It’s the front end of a back-to-back for the Penguins, who will be in Vegas on Saturday before wrapping up their road trip in Utah on Monday. After opening up the season with a pair of wins and scoring 13 goals, Pittsburgh has dropped four of their last five and scored just 11 goals. Colorado has dominated the head-to-head meetings of late, winning four of the last five, and we have seen the game flying Over the total in four of the last five as well, with a combined, 8,9,5,8 and 9 goals. With those recent trends, I will take the Avalanche to win the game and parlay that with an alternate total of Over 5.5 goals for plus money (+106).

Let’s discuss player props. The Penguins’ Sidney Crosby has points in six of his last seven games versus Colorado, and Bryan Rust has points in eight consecutive games against the Avs. I will parlay the pair to get a point for some plus money. Egor Chinakhov has points in three of the last four games against the Avs (5 pts). On the Colorado side, Nazem Kadri and Artturi Lehkonen are on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon. Kadri is also on the top power play unit, and Lehkonen is on power play unit number two. I will take that duo in a point parlay along with Brock Nelson and Gabe Landeskog in another point parlay. Lastly, Devon Toews has nine assists in 13 games versus the Penguins.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Crosby/Rust point parlay (+142) – ½ unit
Landeskog/Nelson point parlay (+193) – ½ unit
Kadri/Lehkonen point parlay (+196) – ½ unit
Jonathan Toews Over ½ assist (+154) – ¼ unit
Colorado Avalanche Money Line/Over 5.5 (+106) – 1 unit
Egor Chinakhov Over ½ point (+150) – ½ unit

Boston Bruins at Anaheim Ducks

Boston (-115) at Anaheim (-105) – Total 6 (Over, -125)

10 p.m. ET

The Anaheim Ducks should be playing with a little vinegar tonight after getting doubled up by the Flames on home ice on Tuesday by a score of 4-2. Anaheim has now dropped two of their first three games at Honda Center. This could be a “get right” spot for Anaheim, who have won five straight over the Bruins but will need to put in a better effort tonight if they want to snap the B’s three-game winning streak. I will pass on the side and the total for this game and stick to player props.

The Bruins Fraser Minten has registered at least three shots on goal in five of seven games this season, and we are getting an outstanding price (+255) on his 3+ shots on goal prop. His seven points this season (four goals, three assists) have him second in scoring on the Bruins behind David Pastrnak. Pasta has had 3+ shots on goal in seven of his last eight meetings against the Ducks, and Anaheim’s Beckett Sennecke has had 3+ shots on goal in all three home games this season. Of his four goals this season, three have opened the scoring for the Ducks.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Sennecke/Pastrnak each for 3+ shots (+130) – 1 unit
Fraser Minten 3+ shots on goal (+255) – 1 unit
Beckett Sennecke 1st Ducks goal of the game (+650) – .10 units
Beckett Sennecke anytime goal (+200) – ¼ unit
