NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets:
Ottawa Senators (36-24-9) at New York Rangers (28-33-9)
Senators (-190) at Rangers (+160) – Total 5.5 (Over, -130)
7 p.m. ET
The Ottawa Senators come into Madison Square Garden having won back-to-back games and seven of their past nine, but they still find themselves four points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Sens get a Rangers team that has dropped four straight and sits dead last in the Eastern Conference. New York is 1-10 in the second half of back-to-backs this season.
Tonight is game number 1,000 for the Rangers’ Mika Zibanejad, and how ironic it is that he plays this milestone game against the team he started his career with and played four full seasons with before being moved to the Rangers. Zibanejad hit the 30-goal mark over the weekend and is riding a three-game goal streak. He has goals in two of the past three games against his former team. Fifteen of his 30 goals this season have opened the scoring for the Rangers. Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk has six goals in the nine games he has faced Rangers’ goalie, Igor Shesterkin.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Ottawa Senators in Regulation (-125) – 1.5 units
Brady Tkachuk anytime goal (+150) – .25 units
Mika Zibanejad anytime goal (+200) – .15 units
Mika Zibanejad 1st Rangers goal (+550) – .05 units
