NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are today’s NHL predictions and best bets.

Winnipeg Jets (14-12-1) at Edmonton Oilers (12-11-5)

Betting Line: Jets (+165) at Oilers (-195) – Total 6.5 (Over, -115)

10 p.m. ET

Just a brutal scheduling spot for the Winnipeg Jets, who recently came off a five-game road trip, played at home last night, and now must play back-to-back games with travel. Rookie Thomas Milic gets the start for Winnipeg with Eric Comrie playing last night in the Jets’ win over Buffalo. Keeping it simple on this large Saturday card, and will go with the Oilers team total Over 3.5 goals. I will also target the Oilers, who own the league’s second-best power play goal to score with the man advantage. Connor McDavid has 47 assists in 35 games versus the Jets and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is a point-a-game player (38 points/38 games) in his career against Winnipeg. Leon Draisaitl has 24 goals in 34 games against Winnipeg.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Edmonton Oilers Team Total Over 3.5 (-125) – 1 unit
Edmonton Oilers Over ½ power play goal (-135) – .25 units
McDavid assist/Nugent-Hopkins point (+155) – .25 units
Leon Draisaitl anytime goal (+125) – .10 units

Minnesota Wild (15-8-5) at Vancouver Canucks (10-15-3)

Betting Line: Wild (-145) at Canucks (+125) – Total 5.5 (Over, -130)

10 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Wild are coming off a 4-1 loss at Calgary on Thursday and have not lost consecutive games since dropping five straight in late October. The Wild are in a great spot to get back in the win column tonight as the Canucks are dead last in the NHL standings and have lost four straight and 10 of their last 12.

Rookie Jesper Wallstedt, “The Wall of St. Paul,” gets the start tonight for Minnesota. The second-shortest shot on the board for rookie of the year leads all goalies with four shutouts. He has given up two or fewer goals in six of his last seven starts. With that, the Canucks team total Under 2.5 at plus money (+100) is on my card for tonight. As is the Wild to score a power play goal tonight against the Canucks, who are 30th on the penalty kill.

A couple of goal props for me tonight, and I will keep it simple with Kirill Kaprizov, who has nine goals in 12 games against the Canucks and leads Minnesota with 17 goals. Kaprizov has scored Minnesota’s first goal in two of the last four games and five times this season. Matt Boldy is second on the team with 15 goals and has opened the scoring for Minnesota eight times this season.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Minnesota Wild (-145) – 1 unit
Vancouver Canucks Team Total Under 2.5 (+100) – 1 unit
Minnesota Wild Over ½ PPG (-105) – .25 units
Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal (+110) – .10 units
Kirill Kaprizov Minnesota Wild 1st goal (+400) – .05
Matt Boldy anytime goal (+155) – .10 units
Matt Boldy Minnesota 1st goal (+500) – .05 units

Detroit Red Wings (14-11-3) at Seattle Kraken (11-8-6)

Betting Line: Red Wings (-125) at Kraken (+105) – Total 5.5 (Over, -130)

10 p.m. ET

These teams have met nine times since the Kraken came into the league, and they have not played a game with fewer than six goals. The Over has cashed in six of the Red Wings’ last seven games (11,9,5,9,9,7,7). Detroit has been very leaky of late, giving up three or more goals in eight straight. The Kraken are dead last on the penalty kill. Player props will be posted later on my Twitter feed, @westcoasthky.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Over 5.5 (-130) – 2 units
Seattle Kraken Team Total Over 2.5 (-155) – 1 unit
Seattle Kraken Team Total Over 3 (+100) – .50 units
Detroit Red Wings Over ½ power play goal (-105) – .25 units
