NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are today’s NHL predictions and best bets.

Philadelphia Flyers (23-17-8) at Utah Mammoth (25-20-4)

Flyers (+145) at Mammoth (-175) – Total 5.5 (Over, -135)

9 p.m. ET

I am not going to waste your valuable time with a breakdown of this game tonight. I am sticking with old reliable, Utah defenseman Mikhail Sergachev. Sergachev has cashed his shots on goal prop (Over 1.5) in 10 straight home games and 20 of the last 21 home games and in his last five meetings against the Flyers.

NHL Predictions and Best Bet:
Sergachev Over 1.5 shots on goal (-135) – 4 units

Anaheim Ducks (25-21-3) at Colorado Avalanche (34-5-8)

Ducks (+250) at Avalanche (-300) – Total 6.5 (Over, -135)

9 p.m. ET

This game features one of my favorite prop angles that I began tracking last season that is based on when you have a favorite of (-300) or greater. Tonight is the eighth time this season that Colorado has been a favorite of (-300+). Favorites are (11-3), the “GIFT” is (11-3), the 1st period Over is (11-3), and the Underdog has scored a first period goal in 11 of the 14 games. Specifically, when it comes to the Avalanche, Colorado has won six of the seven games as a favorite (-300+), covered the Puck Line in all six wins, and scored four or more goals in five of the six wins. Colorado defeated Anaheim 4-1 last November in Denver, and we saw the first period Over (1.5 goals), the “GIFF” (Goal 1st 5), the “GIFT”, and the Ducks scored one of the goals in the first period.

A couple of good player prop options for Anaheim tonight include Alex Killorn, playing in game number 1,000, and defenseman Jackson LaCombe, who was added to the USA Olympic team. We saw earlier this month when players were named to their respective Olympic teams, they got themselves on the scoresheet in their next game. I will have LaCombe on my card for tonight. Mason McTavish has opened the scoring for the Ducks in back-to-back games. When it comes to the home team, Ross Colton has six goals and nine points in 10 career games against the Ducks.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Goal in 1st 5 minutes (+154) – .25
Goal 1st 10 minutes/1st period Over 1.5 goals (-117) – 1 unit
1st period Over 1.5 goals (-156) – 1 unit

Alex Killorn anytime goal (+475) – .10 (Best price at Draft Kings)
Ross Colton anytime goal (+320) – .10
Ross Colton Over ½ assist (+220) – .10

New York Islanders (27-17-5) at Seattle Kraken (21-18-19)

Islanders (-115) at Kraken (-105) – Total 5.5 (Over, -125)

9:30 p.m. ET

Tonight is the final stop on the Islanders’ seven-game road trip that has seen them trade wins and losses in the first six games to start the trip. The Isles are coming off a 4-3 win over Vancouver on Monday, as Anthony Duclair scored a pair of goals and has scored goals in three of the Islanders’ last four games and has opened the scoring for New York all three of those games. Two of Duclair’s goals came on the power play. Tonight, the Islanders face a Kraken team that is dead last in the NHL on the penalty kill. Both of those power play goals were assisted by Calum Ritchie and Mathew Barzal. Ritchie has assists in each of the last three Islanders games.

Seattle is in a free fall, having lost four straight and six of their last seven games. The Kraken have given up 22 goals in their past three games. The first period Over (1.5 goals) has cashed in each of the Kraken’s last eight games. Tonight is the second meeting this season between the two teams. New York defeated Seattle 1-0 in a shootout back in November. It was the third time in the last five contests that the game ended in a shootout. Eight of the Isles’ last 18 games against Western Conference teams have gone past regulation.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Anthony Duclair anytime goal (+380) – .20
Anthony Duclair to score Isles 1stgoal (+850) – .05
Anthony Duclair Over ½ power play point (+550) – .05
