NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are today’s NHL predictions and best bets.

Florida Panthers (-150, 5.5) at Detroit Red Wings

7 p.m. ET

The Panthers are coming off their first loss of the season (3-1) in Philadelphia. They lost 5-2 to the Flyers as they kicked off a five-game road trip. Stop number two has them at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, where they face a Red Wings team that swept a home-and-home from Atlantic Division rival, Toronto, by scores of 6-3 and 3-2. Detroit will be without Lucas Raymond, who suffered an injury in the Monday win over Toronto. They will continue to lean on captain Dylan Larkin and veteran Patrick Kane. Larkin has a pair of goals to start the season, and both his goals have been the first goal of the game. For his career, Larkin has 14 goals and 30 points in 39 career games versus the Panthers. His teammate, Patrick Kane, has four points (one goal, three assists) in three games to start the season. Kane has 42 points in 38 career games against the Panthers and 12 goals in 25 games against Florida netminder Sergei Bobrovsky.

On the Florida side, I am going to focus on their top line, which now includes Mackie Samoskevich alongside Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand.  Marchand has nine goals on 55 shots in the 15 games he has faced Talbot. Both his anytime goal and shots on goal prop have good value. We are getting over 3/1 on Samoskevich to score a goal playing on the top line. That is tremendous value.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Dylan Larkin – (+195) anytime goal – .20 units
Dylan Larkin – (+550) 1st home goal – .10 units
Dylan Larkin Over 2.5 shots on goal (-118) – .50 units
Patrick Kane – (+310) anytime goal – .10 units
Patrick Kane – (+130) over ½ assist – .10 units
Brad Marchand anytime goal (+240) – .10 units
Brad Marchand Over 2.5 shots on goal (+106) – .50 units
Mackie Samoskevich anytime goal (+325) – .10 units
Marchand/Samoskevich/Bennett over ½ point each parlay (+294) – .20 units

Calgary Flames at Utah Mammoth (-225, 6)

9 p.m. ET

The Flames are coming off a 4-2 loss last night at home to Vegas. Calgary jumped out to a 2-0 lead, only to see the Knights score four unanswered goals, including three in the third period. The Flames have lost three straight games after rallying to beat Edmonton in their opening game of the season. They have scored just nine goals in four games. Calgary has been outscored in the third period this season, 9-1. It won’t get any easier tonight for the visitors as they head into the thin air of Utah on the back end of a back-to-back and playing their fifth game in eight days. After starting the first four games of the season (including a back-to-back), Dustin Wolf gets the night off. Calgary turns to Devin Cooley, who will be making his first NHL start since the 2023-24 season when he was a member of the San Jose Sharks. Cooley played six games that season, going 2-3-1 with a 4.98 goals against average. The Flames are 3-0-1 to the Over to start the 2025-26 campaign

On the Utah side, tonight is their home opener after starting the season with road games at Colorado, Nashville and Chicago. The offense has yet to get going for the Mammoth, scoring just five goals in three games. Utah’s Dylan Guenther has two goals and has been involved in four of the five Utah goals (two goals, two assists) this season and has had a point in all three games. For his career, Guenther has two goals and six points in seven career games against the Flames. The Mammoth won all three games against Calgary last season, outscoring the Flames, 13-5.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Dylan Guenther anytime goal (+160) – .20 units
Utah Mammoth -1.5 goals (+108) – 1.25 units
Utah Mammoth -2.5 goals (+196) – .25 units
