In the meantime, let's discuss a few NHL games today receiving notable line movement…

5 p.m. ET: Carolina Hurricanes (12-4-1) at Tampa Bay Lightning (11-4-1)
These Central Division rivals just split a two-game series in Carolina and now they travel to Tampa for a pair of contests. This line opened with Tampa Bay listed as a -130 favorite and we've seen the limb climb up slightly to -135, signaling some respected money laying the wood with the Lightning. Tampa Bay has value as a home favorite (96-62, 61% this season) and a favorite vs a tired team, as the Hurricanes will be playing their fourth game in six games. Favorites in this spot against tired dogs are 31-18 (63%). The Canes will be missing one of their top scoring forwards, Teuvo Teravainen, who is out with a concussion. The total is 6 with -115 juice to the over. Both of these teams are profitable to the over this season, with the Canes 10-5-2 and the Lightning 9-6-1.

5 p.m. ET: Dallas Stars (5-4-4) at Florida Panthers (12-3-2)
These Central Division opponents are trending in completely opposite directions. The Panthers are 4-1 over their last five games while the Stars have dropped six straight and are just 1-8 over their last nine. These teams met two nights ago and Florida won 3-1 as a -125 home favorite. This line opened with the Panthers listed as a -110 home favorite and respected money has pushed Florida up to -120 or even -125 depending on the book. Florida has value as a home favorite (96-62, 61% this season) and a favorite with a line move of 10-cents or more (38-23, 62%). The Stars are 1-3-1 on the road this season while the Panthers are 6-2-1 at home. Dallas is 0-5 as a dog and Florida is 8-3 as a favorite. The total is 5.5. Both teams are slightly profitable to the over, with the Stars 7-6 and Panthers 9-8.

9 p.m. ET: Minnesota Wild (9-6) at Colorado Avalanche (9-5-1)
These West Division foes are neck-and-neck in the standings and looking to gain ground on the division leading Knights. The Wild have returned from their COVID pause and won three straight, outscoring the Ducks and Sharks by a combined margin of 14-4. On the flip side, the Avs just got blanked by Vegas 3-0, which snapped a two-game win streak. This line opened with Colorado listed as a hefty -170 home favorite and heavy chalk action has driven the line up to -180 or even -190 at some shops. Colorado matches several profitable betting systems, including a favorite with a line move of 10-cents or more (38-23, 62% this season) and a home favorite -150 or more (49-19, 72%). The Avs are also a favorite off a loss (69-30, 70%) and a home favorite -150 or more off a loss (20-5, 80%).

9 p.m. ET: Anaheim Ducks (6-10-3) at Arizona Coyotes (8-7-3)
These West Division opponents are looking to break free from the bottom half of the division standings. The Ducks have lost four straight games. The Coyotes just beat the Ducks 4-3 two nights ago, cashing as -160 home favorites. The win snapped a two-game losing skid for Arizona. This line opened with the Coyotes listed as -150 home favorites. This line has inched up to -155, signaling some respected money laying the chalk with Arizona. The Coyotes have value as a home favorite (96-62, 61%) and a home favorite -150 or more (49-19, 72%). The Coyotes are -4 in goal differential but the Ducks are -17, tied for the third-worst in the NHL. Arizona is 5-4-3 at home and Anaheim is 3-5-1 on the road. We might be looking at a low scoring game. The total is 5.5 with the under juiced up to -135. The Ducks are one of the top under teams this season (12-6-1). The Coyotes have been profitable to the over (11-6-1).
