2026 World Cup

We still have a long wait for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but now we know which teams will be grouped together and can take a more informed look at the World Cup betting odds. The 23rd World Cup will be hosted by the three North American countries with 11 sites in the U.S., three in Mexico, and two in Canada.

This year’s field has expanded to 48 teams from the 32 that the 2022 World Cup had the last time this tournament was held. That tournament was held in November and December in Qatar. This one will be held in June and July, with a July 19 championship game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, more commonly known as The Meadowlands.

In total, there will be 104 matches in the 2026 World Cup. Group play is from June 11-27, with the Knockout Stage beginning June 28 and going until a champion is crowned.

2026 World Cup Draw

Teams were separated into four different Pots and then the Groups were selected from there on December 5, 2025.

Pot 1 featured the three host countries and the top nine teams in the November 2025 FIFA Men’s World Ranking. The ranking was also used to determine the teams in Pots 2, 3, and 4 and then the groups were randomly selected, with some exceptions to keep teams from the same confederation in the same groups.

There are 12 Groups of four teams each. Here are those Groups:
