2025 Roland Garros best bets for Monday, June 2nd
The second major of the 2025 tennis season is here. The top players in the world are in Paris, France for the 2025 French Open for another week, and the action in Roland Garros should be awesome to monitor. I’ll continue posting daily best bets throughout the tournament, so VSiN is the place to be if you like betting on tennis. If you aren’t already a subscriber, I’d suggest looking into becoming a VSiN Pro soon. I constantly provide analysis on all of the biggest events, and this is the best time of the year for this sport.
I’d also strongly suggest checking the Pro Picks page throughout the day. That’s where Gill Alexander is posting his French Open best bets. Gill does a tremendous job handicapping tennis on A Numbers Game, which is a staple of our live VSiN programming. Also, while I try to write up as many of my plays as possible, I do occasionally add things to that page throughout the day. That’s also where I post plays for smaller ATP and WTA events, and my Challenger-level plays live exclusively on that page.
With all of that out of the way, let’s get into some French Open picks for Day 9 on Monday, June 2nd.
2025 Record: 722-702-1 (+24.04 units)
Tallon Griekspoor vs. Alexander Zverev
Griekspoor and Zverev are about to meet for the ninth time since the start of the 2023 season, and these two always play close matches. Three of their last four battles have gone the distance, and Griekspoor has been having more and more success against the German. After losing five consecutive matches to Zverev, Griekspoor got in the win column with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) victory at Indian Wells. Then, in Munich, the Dutchman was serving for the match in the second set, but Zverev broke him and ended up winning on home soil. That had to have been rough for Griekspoor, but he is at least seeing that he is fully capable of beating Zverev.
As far as this match goes, I’m actually not playing a side or a total. Instead, I’m taking the Over on 0.5 tiebreakers played. I originally saw this at -120 at bet365, but they quickly moved it to -138. However, there’s a -125 available at BetRivers. That’s a strong number.
These two have gone to at least one tiebreaker in seven consecutive matches, and three of their last four matches have featured multiple tie breaks. Well, if they can go to multiple in a best-of-three, asking for them to go to one in a best-of-five seems reasonable. After all, these are two of the top-seven servers on tour by hold percentage over the last 52 weeks.
Bet: Over 0.5 Tiebreakers (-125)
Hailey Baptiste vs. Madison Keys
This price doesn’t look crazy when considering the fact that Keys is ranked eighth in the world and Baptiste is 70th. However, Baptiste is up at 58th in the live WTA rankings, and she’s only rising from here. In terms of pure talent, a good argument can be made that Baptiste is a top-10 player in the world. She absolutely obliterates her groundstrokes, but she’s also good at hitting with topspin and mixing in slices. She also has a strong net game, along with a big, powerful serve. Baptiste’s problem is the one you see with players like Holger Rune, where she’s incredibly gifted but doesn’t exactly know how to play. However, she has made some real improvements from a tactical standpoint, which is why she’s having a career year. Baptiste is 16-9 since the start of the 2025 season, which is a great record considering she has never had a winning season at the WTA level. And I don’t just don’t see why she can’t give Keys a match.
For as good as Keys is, we know she’s capable of being extremely sloppy from the baseline. So, if she’s not serving well, Baptiste will have plenty of ways she can hurt her.
The reality is that we just saw Keys hang on by the skin of her teeth against Sofia Kenin, who is another player with all-world talent but a questionable mental approach. Well, if Baptiste can be a little tougher mentally, she should be able to cash in on the opportunities Kenin didn’t.
This has also been a competitive head-to-head series in the past. Baptiste beat Keys in Washington D.C. back in 2019, then Keys got revenge in a 6-1, 6-2 romping in Charleston in 2023. But these two played another highly-competitive match in Indian Wells in 2024, when Keys earned a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4) win. Well, at these prices, I’ll sign up for another one of those coin-flip matches.
Bet: Baptiste +1.5 Sets (+100 – 1.5 units) & Baptiste ML (+285 – 0.5 units)
