The 2026 tennis season is into its final stretch, and this week brings a pair of ATP 500 events in Vienna and Basel. With the Paris Masters next on the calendar and the ATP Finals approaching, there’s still plenty to play for as players look to finish strong on the indoor hard courts.

Both tournaments should give us plenty to work with from a betting perspective, and I’ll be posting my tennis best bets daily throughout the week. My write-ups will focus exclusively on ATP matches, but I’ll also have women’s picks available on the picks page.

With that in mind, keep reading for my tennis best bets for Friday, October 30, at the Erste Bank Open and Swiss Indoors Basel.

Valentin Vacherot vs. Holger Rune

It’s possible I’ll add some other plays to my Friday card, but the only thing I have at the moment is Vacherot on the moneyline. This is a tough match for me, as Vacherot and Rune are two guys I’d prioritize having in a faction if I were a wrestling manager. I absolutely love the way both of these guys compete. However, as things stand, it’s hard not to view Vacherot as a strong value play.

When 100% healthy, Rune offers more than Vacherot. However, just a couple of months into his return from a torn Achilles, it’s hard to say he’s playing his best tennis. Since returning to action, Rune’s Performance Rating in TennisViz’s tracked events is just 6.95. That would rank only 96th in 2026 if extrapolated over the entire season. At his best, Rune is a top-10 player in the world, so those numbers should tell you how far he is from his peak level. Meanwhile, Vacherot has a Performance Rating of 7.65 in tracked events this year, putting him comfortably above the Dane.

Vacherot’s also about as steady a player as you can find. His serve is good enough to give him a shot in any match he plays, and he’s going to hang around from the back of the court. And something I do think will be interesting here is the backhand matchup. Rune has one of the best backhands on the planet, but Vacherot’s two-hander is awesome. If Rune doesn’t have a major edge from that wing, are we sure he’s going to have enough advantages everywhere else? I think Vacherot will be the more effective server and returner, which is why the plus-money odds are hard to pass up.

Bet: Vacherot ML (+120)

Added Plays

I usually have A LOT MORE on the Pro Picks page. Those plays count towards my record and have been a big part of my success this season. Make sure you check them out. I’ll probably add a few more over there, so refresh that page throughout the day if you’re looking for action.
