Dallas, Rotterdam, Abu Dhabi and Cluj-Napoca tennis best bets for February 6th

The 2025 Australian Open is in the books, but tennis never stops. This week, the top ATP players in the world are competing in Rotterdam and Dallas, and the best WTA players are playing in Abu Dhabi and Cluj-Napoca. Rotterdam and Dallas are both 500-level events, so the men are going to be really locked in for those two tournaments. On the women’s side, Abu Dhabi is a 500 and Cluj-Napoca is a 250. I’ll be handicapping all of the events on both tours this week, and I’ll also be mixing in some Challenger-level plays. However, I’m only going to be writing up the 500-level events this season, so you’ll find my lower-level tournament plays on the Pro Picks page. That said, keep reading for my Dallas, Rotterdam and Abu Dhabi tennis best bets for Thursday, February 6th.

I’m going to quickly hit on some of my favorite picks below, and I occasionally add some picks throughout the day. Schedules can get wonky with the international nature of the sport, and I also like to see how odds are moving. That said, keep checking the picks page every couple of hours if you want more of my picks.

2025 Record: 143-126-1 (+5.04 units)

Belinda Bencic vs. Marketa Vondrousova – Abu Dhabi

Bencic has been playing some insane tennis since the start of 2025. The former world No. 4 is already 7-3 on the season, and she has earned wins over some solid players. However, Bencic saved her best for a 6-0, 6-0 win over Veronika Kudermetova in the Round of 16 of this tournament. Bencic was just extremely accurate with her serve — making 78.9% of her first serves — and she was also putting a ton of pressure on Kudermetova’s. Also, most of the baseline rallies went Bencic’s way. Now, the Swiss star is going to be feeling confident heading into a meeting with Vondrousova.

When Vondrousova is playing her best tennis, she’s very difficult to beat. However, the lefty has played just four tour-level matches since getting injured at Wimbledon last year. And while she has won three of her four matches, she hasn’t really played anybody with the all-court ability of Bencic. And in the one match she did, she retired in a match that was 4-6, 1-1 against Diana Shnaider in Adelaide.

I’m just not sure Vondrousova has what it takes to physically keep up with Bencic right now, and I also think the Swiss player is in much better form at the moment. Look for Bencic’s drop shot to be a big weapon here. She’s great at catching opponents off guard with that shot, and Vondrousova might not be up for tracking those down.

On top of that, Bencic is 3-1 against Vondrousova in their brief head-to-head history, and she’s also an impressive 31-16 against left-handed players.

Bet: Bencic ML (-128 – 1.5 units)

Jakub Mensik vs. Alex de Minaur – Rotterdam
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs. Matteo Arnaldi – Dallas

I’m throwing in a two-leg parlay as one of my best bets for the day. It starts with needing de Minaur to beat Mensik in Rotterdam. I’m extremely high on Mensik’s big, powerful game. His serve is a huge weapon and he has one of the best backhands on tour. However, de Minaur is going to be a really tough matchup for him. De Minaur is one of the best returners in tennis, so he’s going to consistently put Mensik under pressure. And for as good as the Czech is, he can occasionally make some head-scratching decisions in big moments. I also just trust de Minaur a bit more from the baseline. He has been working on his strength to try and find ways to hit through opponents like Mensik, and we have seen some improvements there. But realistically, I think de Minaur’s ability to grind and extend rallies will lead to some sloppy mistakes from Mensik. Simply put, de Minaur is going to drag Mensik into the mud and hope to outlast him.

As for the second match, I’m actually surprised Davidovich Fokina is favored at all. However, I’m going to play things safe and take Arnaldi to win a set instead of win outright. The courts in Dallas have just been playing very slow, so Arnaldi’s ability to stay solid should be a valuable asset against an erratic Davidovich Fokina. I know the Spaniard has a ton of firepower from the baseline, but he’s also more likely to make errors than Arnaldi is. I also think Arnaldi has a slight advantage when it comes to serving and returning. We haven’t quite seen that in 2025, but I’m not overreacting to a small sample.

PARLAY: De Minaur ML & Arnaldi +1.5 Sets (+110)

Ons Jabeur vs. Elena Rybakina – Abu Dhabi

Jabeur is now 8-3 since the start of the 2025 season, looking more and more like the elite player she was from 2021 to 2023. Jabeur already picked up an impressive win over Jelena Ostapenko earlier in this event, finding a way through against an opponent that was hitting the ball extremely well from the baseline. Jabeur then followed that up with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Wakana Sonobe, and I really see no reason to believe that the Tunisian can’t hang around against Rybakina here.

I know Rybakina has one of the best serves on the WTA Tour, and she also has some impressive power from the baseline. However, Rybakina didn’t look great in her 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Katie Volynets, and Jabeur is going to have a pretty big advantage from the back of the court in this one. That said, if Jabeur can just hit her spots on her serve, she should be able to keep this match tight.

Jabeur has also won three of the five matches these two have played against one another, and she has never lost in straight sets to Rybakina. So, I think it makes a lot of sense to back Jabeur to take one set here, and I’m also sprinkling a little on the moneyline. And it definitely doesn’t hurt that Rybakina has such a messy off-court situation right now. I have serious doubts about her ability to stay focused while she navigates this coaching stuff.

Bet: Jabeur +1.5 Sets (-130 – 1.5 units) & Jabeur ML (+205 – 0.5 units)

Tallon Griekspoor vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas – Rotterdam

Griekspoor should have a really good feel for how to beat Tsitsipas, as he’s very similar to Matteo Berrettini. Both Tsitsipas and Berrettini have good serves, elite forehands and shaky backhands. That said, Griekspoor should be prepared heading into this match, and it’s hard not to like him to prevail at plus-money odds. Griekspoor is playing in his home tournament, so he’s completely comfortable with his surroundings, has the full support of the crowd and has generally always been a threat in the event. In fact, he’s 5-2 against top-20 opponents at this tournament.

Griekspoor is also just a little more trustworthy than Tsitsipas right now. The Greek star has completely lost his way. Coming into this match, Tsitsipas has lost three of his last five. And he’s really not even comfortably beating much lesser players these days. Also, while it’s very early in the season, Tsitsipas’ hold percentage is down from last year, which is somewhat alarming considering his serve dipped a little from 2023 to 2024.

This just feels like a match in which Griekspoor should be favored, even if Tsitsipas is a more accomplished player and has a win in their lone head-to-head matchup. I like the Dutch player to handle his business on his serve and find ways to take advantage of any openings Tsitsipas gives him as a returner.

Bet: Griekspoor ML (+111)
