No shortage of football to bet on today with three NFL games and eight college bowl games.
NFL Playoff Spots on the Line
Of the six NFL teams in action today, three can clinch a playoff berth with a victory while the Bengals need to win to keep their longshot chances alive.
Let’s see what VSiN’s crew has to say about the tripleheader.
Steve Makinen on Chargers at Patriots, 1 p.m. ET:
New England is still playing hard for head coach Jerod Mayo, and they actually seem to be improving as the season wears on. There is actually hope on the horizon in Foxboro, with QB Drake Maye making great strides this season. Speaking of Maye, did you know that rookie quarterbacks have fared reasonably well under the spotlight of non-Sunday games lately, going 19-21 SU and 25-13-2 ATS (65.8%) in their last 40 such tries?
>Zach Cohen‘s preview and pick.
Dave Tuley on Broncos at Bengals, 4:30 p.m. ET:
The Bengals are making their patented late run with three straight wins, but it’ll probably be too late. The Broncos, led by Bo Nix, have been more consistent all year, and I have them as a short favorite, so I’ll gladly take the points here. Obviously, grab the +3.5 if you can still get it, but +3 EVEN is a strong play, too.
>>Tuley’s Takes on every game.
Will Hill on Cardinals at Rams, 8:10 p.m. ET:
This time of year the lines are shaded towards the teams who have more to play for. This game is a perfect example, as the Rams and Cardinals are only separated by a couple of points based on most people’s power rankings, and yes, the Rams are home, but getting to 6.5 here is a bridge too far. I’ll take the undervalued dog here with the Cardinals.
Note on Rams’ playoff berth: They need some help with wins from 4 of 6 other teams playing this weekend to clinch via winning the Strength of Victory tiebreaker over Seattle. >>Details here.
