Best Bets for Broncos-Bills, Packers-Eagles & Commanders-Bucs
The NFL playoffs have started, although someone should have told Steelers.
The Ravens (-8.5/-9.5 depending on the book) ran up a 21-0 lead and held off Pittsburgh 28-14 in the Saturday nightcap. In the opener, the Texans (+3/+2.5) woke up in the second half after trailing the Chargers 6-0 and won 32-12.
Let’s look at what our guys had to say about today’s tripleheader.
Zach Cohen on the Broncos-Bills (1 p.m. ET, CBS):
You have to realize that the Denver defense is special. This Broncos defense is first in the league in EPA per play allowed (-0.100), first in Dropback EPA per play allowed (-0.061) and fourth in Rush EPA per play allowed (-0.176). No matter how defenses want to attack Denver, the Broncos are capable of making plays and getting off the field.
Mike Somich on Packers-Eagles (4:30 p.m. ET, Fox)
When you dive into the season numbers, the Eagles possess the advantage on both sides of the ball. If they can jump out, as we have seen quite a few teams do to this Packers team, they should be able to control the game. The Packers are also 2-5 versus playoff teams and 0-5 against teams I have power ranked higher than them, including this Eagles team.
Steve Makinen on Commanders-Bucs (8 p.m. ET, NBC)
Washington’s ability to make big plays through the air is noteworthy, as road teams averaging 7.5 or more yards per pass attempt have been dangerous in playoffs, going 39-19-2 ATS (67.2%) since 2004. Of course, Daniels can also run it as part of a nice balanced offense attack. . . . This #3-#6 matchup has had a history of upsets, with the road teams on a 14-8 SU and 17-5 ATS (77.3%) surge in the series.
