Hindsight is 20/20, right?
But I thought it would be worth going back to the VSiN College Football Playoff Betting Guide to see how our predictions played out.
Out of the 24 hosts and analysts who made picks for every round of the CFP, only one got three out of four correct.
Will Hill, weekend host and proprietor of the Shoulda Bet More podcast, had Indiana, Oregon, Miami and Georgia instead of Ole Miss.
Ole Miss is a tough matchup for Miami because QB Trinidad Chambliss is elusive and gets the ball out of his hands quickly and unlike Ohio State, they will go uptempo and try to wear out the great Miami pass rushers.
Ultimately I’ll go with Oregon edging Miami in the title game.
But first we have the semifinals.
VSiN.com managing editor Adam Burke previews Thursday’s Miami (-3) vs. Ole Miss matchup (7:30 ET):
Questions remain about the Miami offense, but this Ole Miss defense should be a step down and maybe a chance for Beck, Fletcher, and others to make a few more plays. But, the skill set of Chambliss is also something that the Miami defense hasn’t seen.
VSiN.com senior editor Zach Cohen takes on Friday’s Oregon (+3.5) vs. Indiana game (7:30 ET):
It’s just clear that Cignetti and his staff are fantastic when it comes to getting the players prepared, and nobody on this Hoosiers team is scared of the moment.
Dave Tuley weighs in with his Best Bets:
I’ve been as high on Miami as anyone, but even I don’t think they should be favored over #6 Mississippi.
Speaking of the bowl guide, Steve Makinen picked every side and total for the 40 games and went 49-30-1, his best record ever since the first one in 2017. (Adam, taking over for Brent Musburger for the first time, went 37-42-1.)
I asked Steve for the secret to his success:
My long running bowl betting strategies, at the top of the list the coaching experience and motivation edges

Harbaugh’s next stop?
Another seat on the coaching carousel opened up as the Ravens fired John Harbaugh after 18 years with the team.
There are now seven NFL openings. The other six: Giants, Browns, Cardinals, Titans, Falcons and Raiders.
Harbaugh became the favorite to get the Giants’ job at -150, as Adam Burke writes. (He was +2000 before he was fired.)
Adam also sizes up the odds for the Raiders’ opening. Harbaugh is at +450 there.
Back to the wild-card round: On Tuesday, Circa moved the Packers-Bears from a pick’em to Green Bay -1.5.
Everything we do on the wild-card round will be posted here.
