VSiN’s Tim Murray and Matt Youmans are ready to head back to Las Vegas after a weekend in Hawaii.

Or are they?

Hawaii coach Timmy Chang didn’t seem ready to let Tim go moments after a 38-yard walkoff field goal gave the Rainbows a 23-20 victory over Stanford, covering the closing -2.

And Matt texted me: Timmy Chang’s wife just ran over and hugged us and said “You guys are good luck. VSiN needs to be here every game.”

You aren’t going to get an argument from our guys. Matt, not one for hyperbole, posted the above photo and proclaimed it the “best backdrop for a show in the 8.5-year history of VSiN.”

I guess we’ll have to see what our already generous sponsor, Steve Bookatz, proprietor of Na Hoku, Hawaii’s finest jewelers since 1924, has to say.

Other notable Week 0 results: The market misjudged UNLV (-30.5) just a bit vs. Idaho State. The Rebels hung on to win 38-31 at Allegiant. In the first game of the day in Ireland, Iowa State (+3) upset Kansas State 24-21.

U.S. Open Day 1 picks

Gill Alexander will be back from vacation on Monday’s A Numbers Game, with a big announcement no less.

(No, it’s not the name of his favorite Las Vegas sushi place.)

But he already checked in with his picks for today’s opening action at the U.S. Open. Pro subscribers can find them here.

While he was away, Gill also previewed the Open on his Beating The Book podcast with VSiN’s Zach Cohen and NBC Sports’ Drew Dinsick.

Zach, easing his way back in from the birth of his daughter, has posted his favorite futures wagers for the men and the women.

He also has his Day 1 picks.

You can find U.S. Open Betting Splits here.
