WNBA Best Bets for Friday, July 28

Minnesota Lynx at New York Liberty -14.5, 169

This is the first time New York (18-5 SU, 9-13 ATS) has faced Minnesota (11-13 SU, 12-11-1 ATS) this season. The Liberty are fresh off a Thursday home win and cover over the Dream, 95-84. The Lynx are also off a home win and cover in another high-scoring affair versus the Mystics, 97-92. The Liberty are 15-7 to the Over this season including Overs in five of their last six games. Their offense has been incredibly efficient, and they have increased their pace in the past few weeks.

Jessica Shepard also returned to the Lynx lineup in their last game and chipped in eight points on 3 of 3 shooting in 13 minutes played. Minnesota has also cashed Overs in eight of their last eleven games played. However, the Liberty are on the end of a back-to-back in this spot, which could mean tired legs or lackluster defense which would bode well for the Lynx.

Lean Minnesota Lynx +14.5

Seattle Storm at Chicago Sky -5, 161.5

Seattle (4-19 SU, 12-11 ATS) has lost ten straight games but covered three of their last four. On Friday, even Jewell Loyd’s 32 points were not enough in the Storm’s 86-82 loss to the Liberty.

In Chicago’s (9-14 SU, 12-10-1 ATS) last game, they were able to keep pace with the Aces but ultimately lost, 107-95. Now, the Sky have lost five of their last six games, but their lone latest win was over Seattle.

Less than a week ago, the Sky beat the Storm in Seattle by 15, 90-75, and covered as only 2-point favorites which is why you’re seeing them favored by 5 now at home. Both teams could be fatigued after their last games versus the top two teams in the league, but the Sky at least are in Chicago.

Washington Mystics at Dallas Wings -8.5, 164.5

Washington (12-11 SU, 11-12 ATS) is 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, while Dallas (13-10 SU, 12-11 ATS) should be eager to get back in the win column after dropping a game to the Sun their last time out. Before that loss, the Wings had won five straight and covered four of them. Their explosive offense has helped to cash four straight Overs, all with totals of 165 or higher.

Meanwhile, the Mystics have cashed five Overs in their last seven games, which is surprising given they are still missing four players: Elena Delle Donne, Ariel Atkins, Shakira Austin, and now Kristi Toliver, too. Where the Mystics fail to find ways to win, they have found ways to score, so I can certainly get into another Over in this spot.
