WNBA Picks

Just a single, stand-alone game in the WNBA last night, with the Golden State Valkyries, with the Valkyries beating the Connecticut Sun 74-57. Tonight, we just have two games on tap, featuring the Indiana Fever – without Caitlin Clark again – hosting the Dallas Wings and Paige Bueckers followed by the Los Angeles Sparks hosting the New York Liberty.

Of course the T Shoe Index has projections for both so let’s get to those for Tuesday night’s games.

Indiana Fever (-8) vs Dallas Wings, O/U 171.5

Indiana opened as just a 5.5-point favorite in this game, but that line has been driven to -8, while the total opened at 165.5 and has skyrocketed to 171.5. As I mentioned Caitlin Clark remains out with a groin injury for Indiana as well as a plethora of other guards for the Fever while Dallas’ Paige Bueckers is expected to play. TSI projects Indiana as a 3.5-point favorite in this game with a total of 177. Looking at these teams’ last five games, I would make the total projection 184.5 and looking at the home/road splits for these teams, respectively, I would make the projection 179.5 , so I really like the Over in this matchup.

Bet: Over 171.5 (Play to 173.5)

LA Sparks vs New York Liberty (-4), O/U 175

I realize I’ve been driving the bus for the “fade the Sparks at home” crowd, but, New York has been absolutely atrocious since Breanna Stewart went out with an injury; and over the last five games I would actually favor LA by double digits since they got Cameron Brink back in the lineup. However, factoring in all available data for these teams, I make the Liberty a 2-point favorite given how bad LA has been at home this year. I project a total around 179.5, but looking at these teams’ last five games, I would only make that total 171.5. So , I think this is a fair line so I’m going to pass on the total, but I will play the Sparks +4, as they’re 8-2 ATS in their last 10 and New York is just 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10.

Bet: Sparks +4 (Play to +3)
