WNBA Picks
We didn’t have any bets on the WNBA action last night, as there was just too much competing data in my formulas to make me feel good about anything, so we took the pragmatic approach and took the night off from hoops and instead spent the night watching my college football bets go 9-1. Let’s hope that’s a sign of things to come this weekend, but for tonight, we’ve got two WNBA games with the Wings visiting the Dream and the Fever traveling to LA to take on the Sparks. Here are the TSI projections for Friday night:
Atlanta Dream (-15) vs. Dallas Wings, O/U 164.5
Paige Bueckers missed the last game for Dallas with an illness and remains questionable for this contest, though the hefty spread tells me she’s not likely to play. Dallas has dropped their last five games and only covered once in that span, while Atlanta has won three of five and covered in four of five. The Dream won two of the three matchups this season, and the total margin has been almost dead even, with an average combined total of 151.5. TSI projects Atlanta -14.5 with a total of 168, and the recent numbers are only more favorable for Atlanta and the Over. The line has moved too much (from 11) to play Atlanta here, but I’d still take the Over. Even if Paige doesn’t play, the Wings’ defense is awful, and Atlanta is capable of hanging a big number.
WNBA Pick: Over 164.5 (Play to 165.5)
LA Sparks (-1.5) vs Indiana Fever, O/U 178.5
Rickea Jackson is questionable for LA tonight, and Caitlin Clark remains out for the Fever. Indiana is 2-3 in their last five and only covered in one of those, while LA is 2-3 straight up but 0-5 ATS over that span. LA has actually won all three matchups this season by an average of 7 points per game with an average combined total of 182.5. I’ve mentioned before how dreadful they’ve been at home – about 6.5 points worse, and TSI projects Indiana -3 with a total of 179, so I’m going to back the Fever here, and I’d lean Over as well.
